In 2009, Whitney Houston was on her comeback game. She was working on her seventh studio album, I Look To You. And while R Kelly wrote the title song entirely on his own, it was Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz who wrote “Million Dollar Bill” along with Norman Harris. The song, which samples Loleatta Holloway’s 1977 song “We’re Getting Stronger (The Longer We Stay Together)” entered the Billboard 100 but disappeared the next week. It fared better on the R&B/Hip Hop charts, spending 30 weeks there, peaking at the 16th spot. Swizz and Alicia also produced the song together.
