Don’t Drop The Soap: Father Arrested After Beating Up Daughter’s Boyfriend When He Catches Them Showering
According to local news outlet 11 Alive, Athens- Clarke County Police arrested 49 year-old Clinton Antonio Ward on charges of battery and cruelty to children after the man caught his 16 year-old daughter showering with her boyfriend.
Police responded to a call placed by Ward who said he caught the teens inside his apartment. When arriving on the scene they learned that Ward came home and sat on the couch when he heard his daughter in the bathroom talking to someone. When he heard a male’s voice, Ward initially thought his daughter could be talking to someone on speaker phone. He then waited to see who would emerge from the bathroom.
According to the police report, when the daughter came out of the bathroom draped in the towel, she saw her father seated on the couch and immediately knew she was in trouble. Her boyfriend was right behind her completely undressed.
The report goes on to state that Ward began yelling and cursing at the couple. As they ran to the bedroom, Ward pushed past his stepdaughter and went after the boyfriend who was trying to pick up his clothes. He then proceeded to push him against the wall and punch him in the chest and face. The daughter said she had a red mark on her face from being hit.
The boyfriend’s mother is pressing charges against Ward for attacking her son. Ward is being charged with battery and cruelty to children for his assault on the young man as well as allowing his daughter to witness the attack.
We’re not ones to promote violence, but that’s the problem with young men today: No accountability. If you’re grown enough to parade around another man’s house butt naked, you’re grown enough to accept the consequences that can come from getting caught.
Do you think Ward overreacted or was he just being a protective father?
