Yaya Alafia (née Dacosta) has joined the long line of celebrity mothers who are attempting to normalize nursing by posting photos of themselves breastfeeding on Instagram. Gisele Bundchen started this trend in December when she posted a pic of her being prepped for a photo shoot, getting her hair, nails, and makeup done all while breastfeeding, and just last week NFL payer Phillip Wheeler’s girlfriend Ashley Nicole defended a similar pose she uploaded to Social Media. Now Yaya is jumping in on the trend with the picture above, writing on IG yesterday:

Just a few hours later, the new mommy uploaded a second photo, noting:
hubby was like “you can’t see your face!” re: yesterday’s picture. so here’s the other version. why not post #oneaday? vitamins for society!#normalizenursing
So far Yaya hasn’t updated another photo, so we’re not sure if she’ll actually support her movement with a breastfeeding photo everyday, but so far the 31-year-old New Yorker has received an overwhelming outpouring of support for her bold choice. Yaya gave birth to her first child, son Sakara, with husband Josh Alafia, September 12. What do you think about her breastfeeding photos?
