Pregnant Woman In Labor Robbed At Gunpoint
Two men were arrested and charged Sunday after they allegedly robbed a pregnant woman in labor at gunpoint, WBAL-TV reports.
According to eyewitnesses, 24-year-old Devery Kelly and 44-year-old and Cornell Robinson held up the pregnant woman and her partner on an Annapolis, Maryland street around 4:30 a.m. They later fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. Once authorities arrived on the scene, the victims were able to point them in the direction of the suspects.
With officers on their trail, Kelly and Robinson reportedly tossed the gun out of the vehicle before abandoning the vehicle altogether and leading the police chase on foot. Officers were able to retrieve the gun and the suspects were later apprehended by police as well. The pregnant woman—whose identity has not been revealed and was already in labor at the time of the robbery—was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center. So far there are no updates on her condition.
