Kanye West Reportedly Settles With Beverly Hills Assault Victim For Over $250,000
Remember that guy who Kanye West allegedly assaulted a few weeks ago in Beverly Hills after he yelled racial obscenities at Kim Kardashian? Well it turns out Kanye’s attorney Shawn Holley and the young man’s legal representation have already met and agreed on a settlement.
According to TMZ, due to the civil settlement, the man has decided not to proceed with a criminal prosecution. What has not been revealed, however, is whether or not the D.A. will proceed and charge Kanye with battery anyway. But it’s believed that since the D.A. no longer has a cooperating victim, the case will be closed. Sources say the alleged victim will receive more than $250,000 from the “Bound 2” rapper due to the settlement. An exact figure is unknown. Representatives on behalf of Kanye have yet to comment on the settlement.
Many are questioning whether or not it’s fair that the alleged victim is being awarded with anything, especially considering that racial slurs that he reportedly hurled at Kim about Kanye. But I suppose the First Amendment gives the alleged victim the freedom to pretty much say whatever he wants. Kanye, on the other hand, kind of broke the law when he put his hands on the guy.
