In promotion of their new reality show, the women of SWV were asked several times whether or not they were going to be messy, like another R&B singer turned reality star. Read: Kelly Price. And when it came time for the ladies to answer the question Coko called her out specifically.

“We were aware that the cameras were there and they were filming everything. You gotta be smart when you’re taping reality tv. You can’t just act any kinda crazy way. You gotta think smart. I don’t think we’re acting like Kelly Price.”

Well… We can’t really blame Coko for this statement. From what we, the audience, saw Kelly acted a complete donkey. And even though she claims the producers fed her lies and told her to give Fred a hard time, a first impression is a lasting one. Even your fellow R&B singers couldn’t stand behind that behavior.

So word of Coko’s comment got back to Kelly Price. And the people over at Hip Hop Hollywood asked for her reaction. Here’s what she had to say.

“I actually have no reaction. I’ve known all of the ladies for a very long time. Coko and I grew up in church together. I am very very clear that sometimes things can be misinterpreted or if they’re even placed in the wrong place, they can be received in the wrong way. And because I’ve been a victim of that, I refuse to jump fool and believe anything other than what I’ve always known of the ladies. I love them, I appreciate them. I was fans of theirs before I was even an artist. And it was inspirational for me to even see, particularly with Coko, because she was a church kid that came out of a strict church home too, to see that she could make the transition to still be respectable and noted. So I have no reaction…Get your check girl.”

Well, well, well. It looks like Kelly went into her prayer closet and had a little talk with Jesus. She’s not going to get caught in the angry, black woman trap anymore. There was not a hint of attitude or shade with that one. No pop offs to be seen here. We’re happy to see that Kelly has learned from her past and is making an effort to keep it cut and non confrontational.
