Military Mom Returns Home And Surprises Son At Basketball Game!

January 18, 2014  |

Seriously, I cannot get enough of the videos of our men and women returning home and surprising their children.  I think I tear up just about every time I see one.

This video comes out of San Antonio, TX. Lt. Col. Cotina Jenkins-Sellers just spent the last 8 months in Kuwait serving our country and during that time, she missed many sporting events that involved her 13 year old son Derrick Jenkins.  Well, this military mom returned home on Thursday and without even going home first, she headed to Legacy Middle School to give her son the surprise of his life.

With the help of the school and the basketball team, Lt. Col Jenkins-Sellers surprised her son while he shot free throws for a fake technical foul given to one of the coaches. She was standing right behind Derrick and after missing the first shot, she said, “Oh, it’s alright, Derrick” and when he turned around, his face was absolutely priceless.

Check out the surprise video above! Shout out to KSAT-TV in San Antonio for catching this moment.
