Best way I know is using a satin pillowcase. Not the polyester ones, but a real one. Doesn't cause product build-up, keeps hair from drying out. We got hip to cases from neero-ana and are lovin' them.

I've started using Crisco as a based for my hair moisturizer. It is all natural soybean oil, and it's super inexpensive.

I love love love love making hair recipes in the kitchen. Besides being cheap and fun, it is also pretty comforting to know EXACTLY what I am putting on my scalp. If I can pronounce it AND eat it, then I feel good about putting it on my hair and skin.
