Oh yea, I just colored my hair with henna for the first time last night….success! The henna cost $6 and the other things I added I had at home already..a lot cheaper than a salon, plus more benefits

Best way I know is using a satin pillowcase. Not the polyester ones, but a real one. Doesn't cause product build-up, keeps hair from drying out. We got hip to cases from neero-ana and are lovin' them.

I've started using Crisco as a based for my hair moisturizer. It is all natural soybean oil, and it's super inexpensive.

I went from paying the African braiding shops crazy amounts of money to doing my own weaves… now I'm something like a guru and a colorist all because I took the plunge to save $$$

I love love love love making hair recipes in the kitchen. Besides being cheap and fun, it is also pretty comforting to know EXACTLY what I am putting on my scalp. If I can pronounce it AND eat it, then I feel good about putting it on my hair and skin. :)
