Celebrities Who’ve Said ‘No’ To Meat

January 10th, 2011 - By Veronica Wells

From the time we could speak we’ve heard about the benefits of vegetables. If you eat spinach you’ll be strong like Popeye and if you stock up on carrots you’ll have great eyesight. While most of us try to squeeze in some veggies on the side, many in the African American community haven’t gone green when it comes to our plates. But with obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease plaguing our community, the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle deserves some serious consideration. Here are some celebrities who’ve said no more meat. Even if you don’t completely change your meat eating ways, after reading this list you can’t deny those greens have done their bodies good!

Go to You tube and type in Raw Foods and you will be amazed-also the number of African Americans that adopt the lifestyle for me my diet is 70% raw foods I'm not a full raw vegan yet just in transition.

I don't think Brandy should be on the list — on DWTS, she confessed to eating pizza and fast food constantly. Her skin is flawless though and she has managed to keep a healthy weight so kudos to her!

this is inspirational, their skin looks great, cicely tyson could easily pass for 60! it can be expensive thou, is there a way to eat vegetarian and vegan without the cost even erykah badu said it's expensive and certain socieconomic groups eat how they do because it's more affordable even while it damages their health, with the war on childhood obesity maybe the cost of vegetarian and vegan foods will decrease or people can learn to cultivate home gardens for their produce and stuff
