Swimming Pools (Drank) by Kendrick Lamar
Peer pressure is a mother you-know-what, and that’s just one of many deep points that can be taken away from Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools.” While Lamar doesn’t actually drink himself, the song takes a look at his past, the influence of alcohol in his family, the relief people get from a bottle of alcohol, and the pressure that can be put upon you by others. Compared to the other songs, it’s actually the lone track on the list that doesn’t advocate for consumption of alcohol, but rather, uses it to tell a story.
