Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka and his family are mourning the death of his younger brother, Kayo Redd, who died as a result of an apparent suicide. Though Kayo’s exact cause of death is unknown at this time, his passing was confirmed by his brother:
“My f***ing lil brother killed hisself. F***KKKKKKK LIFEEEEE,” Waka wrote in a tweet that was later deleted.
“Ya big brother love you, Kayo,” he later added. “God, please bless me.”
Kayo and Waka’s mother, Deb Atney, also confirmed the family’s tragic loss via Twitter.
Nicki Minaj quickly offered her condolences to Deb, Waka and their family.
“Devastated by the loss of this precious soul,” the “Starships” rapper wrote in an Instagram post. “Always so sweet to me… I cant even… Sending prayers and all my love to Deb, Waka, Wooh, Quam, Big Joe, Bimmy, the entire fam… Gone too soon Kayo… Gone way too soon.”
According to reports, Kayo was found dead yesterday in Atlanta just hours after promoting the release of his latest mixtape, “Red Kiss.” However further details surrounding his death remain scarce. We send our prayers to Waka’s family during this difficult time.
