Well, Trey Songz is back again. After staying pretty lowkey this year in terms of new music (besides “Sensational” which he released over the summer), Trey delivered on his promise to release something new on Christmas Day.
While the “Angels,” his terms of endearment for his fans (the full name is Trey’s Angels) were probably hoping for a full EP or even a new album release date, Trey instead dropped a new song called “Nana.”
The song, produced by DJ Mustard, is a typical Trey club knocking track. In the song, he’s talking to a woman who he seemingly met at a party and of course, the way she’s dancing is turning him on, making him spend his money on drinks and at the end of the night, she’s ready to go home with him. See, typical Tremaine:
“Baby I’m the one you like, yeah/I’ma give you what you like, yeah/Oh yeah, I’ma give it to you right there, best time of your life, yeah/Baby when you ready tell the waitress get the check/Girl Ii know you ready, I ain’t even gotta check/You been through the worst, let me show you who the best/You know I’ma get you right throw them boys to the left”
We all know that most of Trey’s songs that start in the club end up with him taking the young lady home for the evening. It’ll be interesting to see how fans react to this song because for a while now, many have been looking for him to pull a new card and switch up his music style.
But what do you think: Pass or Play? (By the way, whatever you think you’re seeing in the above picture is exactly what you’re seeing.)
