Last week Ledisi stopped by our office and her lovable spirit moved us. While we took selfies and dabbled in girl talk, Ledisi shared the meaning behind her new album “The Truth.”

The album revealed how a bad breakup can push forth a breakthrough within one’s self, and though some have charged that Ledisi’s slim down makes her a sellout to Hollywood standards, she let us know she’s always had a sexay side!

After leaving an unfulfilled relationship, Ledisi started taking dancing classes which forced her to look in the mirror. Examining herself while dancing forced Ledisi to make the necessary changes she wanted in her life on the outside, and she also did some internal soul searching as well. The New Orleans born singer laid out her advice for women on why they need to be forgiving and love who they are, and she also stated if you want anything in this world you can have it if you follow these five steps: write it, read it, say it, be it, and do it.

Watch the video below to get more advice from Ledisi!
