toya wright arrested

None of us really want to go to jail. But if you have to go, you want it to at least be for a substantial crime. So I know Toya Wright is probably really hot right now for getting arrested for something as petty as an unpaid speeding ticket.

There aren’t a whole lot of details but apparently, Toya was pulled over in College Park, GA yesterday. And during the stop, the officer noticed that there was a warrant out for her arrest for failing to appear for a court date.

Toya’s manager told Rolling Out that it was all a misunderstanding. According to the publicist, the speeding tickets had been paid but had yet to be cleared out of the system. He added that they’re reviewing the situation with lawyers.

Sadly, the day she was arrested was also her husband’s Memphitz’ birthday. She was released on $290 bound around 1:30 am this morning.

That sucks…

TMZ is reporting that now Toya is speaking about her experience and vowed that she would never go back to jail because she was so traumatized by the things she witnessed while there. She didn’t give details but says her fellow inmates were treated inhumanely. She says, “I wouldn’t wish jail time on my worst enemy. What I witnessed was so bad that I don’t even want to leave the house right now.”

But Toya is hoping to turn a negative into a positive. Now, she wants to advocate for better treatment of prisoners.

So they want to arrest people on their behalf?! I just read someone else comment on your sister site where they said the same thing happened to them. They were arrested b/c it still showed in their system that they didn’t pay their ticket smh. They need to get that together

Let me add myself to that list. GA’s system is a mess. I was a TN resident (and worked in GA) at the time and it locked me out from getting a renewed license. I needed to change my last name and address and I was shocked! I called GA to try to clear it up and it was a huge mess.
