These single celebrity women have a lot going for them. They’re smart, Hot, beautiful, talented, and make their own money So why hasn’t anyone but a ring on it yet — assuming they want one?
Actress Sanaa Lathan has been a Hollywood staple since the late ’90s. While she has maintained consistent work since leaving the theater world behind and relocating to L.A., Nathan has kept her private life mostly private. The 42-year-old Best Man Holiday star dated football player Adewale Ogunyele for a few years but other than that, Lathan has kept her dating life to herself. A few months ago, she shared a photo of herself and San Francisco 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick out together on a romantic dinner date. No word on if the two are a couple or if it was just dinner with a friend.
Getting her start with acting on the soap opera “Loving” in the early 90’s, Regina Hall is still searching for love. Determined not to give up on love, Hall remains optimistic about dating in her 40’s and discussed what she likes in a man. “I like men who are gentlemen,” she said. “So like if we’re going to go out—I remember the first guy who did it—and he opened my car door. It made me feel like a girl. I felt like a girl. I felt like a lady. It’s such a simple thing.”
It’s hard to believe that Charlize Theron is still single. The blonde, long-legged beauty dated Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins for a few years before meeting fellow actor Stuart Townsend on the set of the 2002 movie Trapped. Their nine-year relationship ended before she could make it down the aisle to happily ever after. Not waiting for Mr. Right to come along to make her a mom, the Young Adult star adopted son Jackson early last year.
Sandra Bullock certainly didn’t think she would be a single lady again but that’s exactly where she found herself after divorcing husband Jesse James. The reality show star became one of the most hated men in America once word leaked out about his extramarital affairs. Married for five years, Bullock and James initially planned to adopt a child together but once the divorce was finalized, the Miss Congeniality star became a single mom to adopted son Louis Bardo Bullock.
Vanessa Williams made history by becoming the first Black Miss America in 1984. After her first marriage of ten years ended in divorce, the actress/singer thought she found a soul mate in former NBA star Rick Fox. But that, too, ended in divorce after photos of Fox hugging on a woman that wasn’t his wife were published. Although she has remained busy with both television and film work, the mother of four is still single.
She may have played a desperate housewife on television for eight seasons but in actuality, Eva Longoria’s real stint as a wife was far less than that. After being single for years, Longoria married her prince Tony Parker in a fairytale wedding in Paris, France. The couple got engaged after two years of dating but after three years of marriage, Longoria and Parker went their separate ways. Since their 2011 divorce, Longoria has been romantically linked to New York Jets Mark Sanchez, NBA player Matt Barnes and “Ready For Love” dating contestant Ernesto Arguello.
Taraji P. Henson
Although she had a couple roles under her belt first, audiences fell in love with Taraji P. Henson after she starred in 2001’s Baby Boy alongside Tyrese Gibson. In that movie, Henson’s character winded up with her man at the end, but in real life the 43-year-old Oscar nominated star is still single. Although she was rumored to be dating several of her co-stars, including Michael Ealy and Terrence Howard, Henson is adamant about sticking to her rule of not mixing business with pleasure.
While their fans and much of the media were interested in the juicy details, Ashanti and Nelly were mum about their long-term relationship. The couple dated on and off for years and many thought they would be the next hip-hop couple behind Jay Z and Beyonce. But despite their long-term relationship, the two never made it down the aisle. Ashanti released a song called “Never Should Have,” which was about her ex.
Every weekday afternoon, television personality Jacque Reid flashes her pearly whites as co-host of “New York Live.” The Atlanta, Georgia peach began her broadcasting career in her home state before moving on to Kentucky. As with most careers in broadcasting, Reid’s job kept her on the move, making her too preoccupied to focus on a love life. In addition to her day job, Reid is also busy making extra money on the public speaking circuit. Reid has expressed her desire to settle down and start a family.
Melissa de Sousa
Actress Melissa de Sousa has been acting since the early ’90s. The New York native has managed to keep herself busy with role after role but one thing she has not been worrying about is her love life. At 46 years old, the “Reed Between The Lines” star is still single. In a 2007 interview the Panamanian-American actress opened up how unselfish she is in a relationship: “Of course, I want my way, but most of the time I’m very giving. I’m a pleaser, almost to a fault. I care more about the other person than myself. I’m working on not doing that as much.” Sousa is set to reprise her role as Shelby in The Best Man Holiday.
Lauren London’s big break came opposite rapper T.I. in ATL. While she played his girl in the 2007 movie, the California native was romantically linked to another rapper in real life. London gave birth to Lil Wayne’s baby in 2009 but despite having an on and off relationship with him for years, the two remain friends for the sake of co-parenting their son Cameron. London, who currently stars in BET’s “The Game,” also reportedly dated singer Trey Songz.
As one-fourth of the girl group Destiny’s Child, LeToya Luckett experienced modest success before she was ousted from the group. While her former group went on to become one of the biggest acts on the globe, Luckett tried unsuccessfully to get her singing career off the ground again. She also was unsuccessful in love. Luckett dated rapper Slim Thug and was even engaged but things ended horribly after the Houston rapper was unfaithful and had a baby outside of the relationship. Switching careers, Luckett has a recurring role on Vh1’s “Single Ladies.”
Singer Jill Scott emerged on the neo-soul scene with her silky smooth voice and poetic songs in 2000. Despite always singing about love, Scott is a single woman. The Philly native married longtime boyfriend and inspiration behind her song “He Loves Me” after seven years of dating. Six years later Scott was single again. She found love once more, this time with her drummer. But just a couple months after their son was born, Scott announced their split.
Can you believe that Selita Ebanks was almost Mrs. Nick Cannon? The two dated for five years and Cannon even proposed to the Victoria’s Secret model in a grand fashion. The engagement lasted only five months before Ebanks was back on the market. Despite being romantically linked to Kanye West, 50 Cent, singer Maxwell, Mehcad Brooks, football player Osi Umenyiora, MLB player Ryan Howard and former “106 & Park” co-host Terrence J, Ebanks hasn’t found the right one yet.
There may be a reason why Rocsi Diaz is still single. Although she has reportedly dated several celebrity men, including rapper and current “Love & Hip-Hop” castmate Saigon, Tyrese Gibson and most recently Eddie Murphy, it was her relationship with former prime minister of Turks & Caicos Michael Misick that may have sent some bad karma her way. Unfortunately, it was while he was still married to actress LisaRaye McCoy. Needless to say her relationship with Misick didn’t last either. Recently Diaz shot down the speculation that she was dating Memphis rapper Juicy J.
