10 pounds in 10 days

It’s no secret, strict dieting and commitment to exercising is what keeps Beyoncé in tip-top shape all year long. In the past, Bey has even revealed some of her more extreme diets. In an attempt to shed a few pounds, journalist and Beyoncé fan Rebecca Harrington decided to combine the diet Bey used to lose weight to prepare for her role as Deena Jones in the 2006 Dreamgirls remake and the diet she used after giving birth. The result: Rebecca dropped 10 pounds in 10 days.

“One think [thing]  I have always enjoyed about Beyoncé is that she’s very open about how hard it is to eat like she does,” Rebecca wrote.

“I will endure the Master Cleanse that Beyoncé endured when she lost weight for Dreamgirls. I will attempt the herculean diet Beyoncé used to lose weight after birthing Blue Ivy,” she continued.

Though she fell victim to temptation and had a cheat day during the 10-day journey, Rebecca confessed that the diet wasn’t anywhere near as bad as she expected it to be.

“I have to say, the actual food on this diet was not terrible.  It was sparse, yes, but flavorful.”

In addition to the strict diet, Rebecca recounts the countless hours that she spent working out in the gym. In the end, her hardwork paid off. 1o days later, she was 10 pounds lighter. She adds that in the past, she tested out Gwyneth Paltol and Madonna’s diets—neither came close to yielding results as drastic as Bey’s.

“The real hardship of this particular regimen was the exercise. Beyoncé worked out for two hours a day to get rid of the baby weight and it is hard for a working woman with a busy schedule,” Rebecca later confessed.

As for what got Rebecca through those two-hour workouts…

“It was Beyoncé’s music that got me through it,”she said.

Would you ever try something so extreme?

But the sad thing is, she will gain that weight right back because it’s such an extreme way to lose weight. . .

  • J

Wait, didn’t Beyonce say it was breastfeeding that took the weight off so quickly??

  • http://blog.kingdombryant.com/ Kingdom Bryant

    where’s the regimen?

  • Mimi

I read about B’s weight loss program (or the Master Cleanse) and I tried it because it worked for her. It was not easy, but I lost 12 lbs. in 14 days. Most ppl see this as a diet, but it is actually a detox. Aside from losing the extra pounds, I also wanted to detoxify my body. I’ve kept the weight off within a 2 lb margin since the detox this summer. It’s amazing how much fluid and waste we carry around. Now when I know I’ve eaten too much I just use the Smooth Move tea and I’m back to where I want to be. I’ve also incorporated popcorn into my daily snack life. You have to find other things that you like or you will go back to eating junk or unhealthy foods and snacks. I only drink no calorie powered beverage (from the Dollar store) or diet Coke or Dr. Pepper sodas. You can talk about exercise all you want, but I’m not one to work out, on a good day I walk. Lol

  • Let It Be

Hmmmm, I have to wonder about this. Depending on her prior shape that would’ve been the initial “water weight” anyway right? Where is the actual plan? I would actually like to try it before my Belize trip in the summer.

People really need to be well informed before attempting such “diets” as these. First everyone should understand that your weight on the scale is a total of everything in your body at THAT TIME. Bones, organs, water, fat, muscle, ect all equal what you weigh. This woman probably only lost water weight, which is what happens when people go on “low carb diets.” This method may be good for an event or if you need a quick fix but not long term. People should focus more on body fat percentage than their weight. Just eat right and exercise 3-5 days a week and you will see results.

  • Rayla

It’s a great quick fix, but once you stop, you’ll gain all the weight back. All you have to do is eat healthy and workout 3 to 5 times a week for 30 min to an hour. Then you have to worry about it.

  • thepreshest

I think I would be scared of gaining it all back once I returned to a more sensible eating regimen. :-/

Im at my wits end with my weight so I decided to do the same. I start Monday so wish me luck:)

  • Is It 5:00 Yet?

I’m at a plateau right now because I have gotten too comfortable again. I need to make a drastic change to my diet.

  • BabyBlue

If I was chewing on air I would probably lose 10 pounds as well

    • hollyw

Right, I read the headline and was like, 10lbs in 10 days..? What’s the diet, starving?!

      • BabyBlue

Hollyweird foolishness lol where is the bacon

  • S. Lee

I need to know the details of this diet…RIGHT NOW! lol I work out 2 hours a day 5 days a week…I haven’t lost nobodies 10lbs in 10 days….I know I probably don’t eat the best and need to cut sugar. But I eat like a bird almost every day…lol LET us KNOW MN.

    • BabyBlue

You could lose 10 pounds with 30min your body is probably use to the same two hour routine. I hate plateaus. You might have to shock your body again or you could be gaining muscle weight instead of weight weight. Good luck

      • S. Lee

Thanks love! Yeah I started trying something different the past week or so and saw a couple of pounds drop on the scale. and saw a difference in my body. Im trying to get these abs to come in by new years and I know its going to take drastic diet change. So Im getting prepared for that. Im at 128 trying to drop 20lb lol hope it works…crossing fingers. I looooove food tho sheesh!

        • BabyBlue

I love food as well. Chocolate is my weakness. Pinterest has tons of exercises and meal plans to help you drop that 20.

        • SkinnyMinny

what??? why would someone who weighs 128 try to drop 20 lbs, are you 4’11??

          • S. Lee

LOL that’s hilarious that you just said that…I actually AM 4’11. Ha that’s why, Im too big to be sooo short.

    • Is It 5:00 Yet?

You may not be eating enough. If you work out 5 days a week for 2 hours and eat like a bird then your body needs more protein to help recover your muscles after exercise. Also, it’s good to switch up or take your current exercise regimen up a notch to bust through plateaus.

  • Kam

I always think of diet as a dirty word when your attempting to lose weight. If your trying to fit into a dress for an event, or a bathing suit for a beach trip then yeah go ahead with a quick 1-2 diet but if your looking for long term results then you have to make lifestyle changes. Fad diets that drop your weight suddenly only for you to pick it back up just as fast are bad for your heart.

    • SANDRA

Absolutely !!! Going on a drastic diet for a few days isn’t that hard. Keeping the weight off for some people is more challenging than shedding some pounds. I don’t think she’ll be able to stick to that 2-hour workout per day.

    • CC

And might I add “dieting” and vigorous exercise is part of Bey’s job. She’s an entertainer and the critical parts of her career is her looks, health, and physical fitness. Someone with an average salary, hectic schedule (maybe even children), working as a customer service rep or babysitter or something may not have the time or money (healthier foods tend to be more expensive) to keep up with lifestyle of a fitness guru, entertainer, bodybuilder, etc. because their life is not centered around it. You are absolutely correct!!!

      • S. Lee

Plus she dances like 24/7 if we did that rigorous of a experience every night we would be the size of her and her dancers too. I am trying to get that same body effect in a gym with regular workouts and believe me no matter how rigorous it takes LONGER.

    • Mimi

Lifestyle change sounds harder than it really is, you have to find better foods you like and use them instead of the bad on an average day. I think it’s more about moderation and elimination. It also depends on your body type, and how much weight you want to lose. I did not put the weight back on, it’s like my body now gives up the extra food digested when before it did not. I weighed 162 lbs before I went on the Master Cleanse and now my weight fluctuates from 152-155, I’m 5’5 1/2 and I wear a size 10. I do watch my “white” foods and if I have bread, I try and chase it with fiber from broccoli or something I know is going to help me eliminate.
