Oprah’s Favorite Things Will Swoon You This Holiday Season
It’s beginning to look a lot like holiday shopping time! Thanks to this year’s release of Oprah’s Favorite Things online and in the December issue of O: The Oprah Magazine, we’ve got a whole bunch of new items to add to our shopping list. From clothes to housewares to tech, Oprah’s list of 60 favorites spans all gifting categories, making it a great holiday resource. True to her all-inclusive principles, Oprah’s list also offers items in a wide range of prices, because we all know it’s the thought that counts, not the price tag. ‘It’s not about spending tons of money. It’s not about buying the biggest gift. Generosity is about using whatever you have to give a gift that means something,” she said.
Before we get to our slideshow of the best fashion-related favorite things, let’s pause for a moment to appreciate the dramatic dress Oprah is wearing on the cover of O. The candy apple red gown is a White by Vera Wang creation and USA Today got the deetsabout how it was made. Ten people worked a total of 100 hours to craft it; the train–reaching all the way to Jimmy Kimmel–is 15 feet long; the dress weighs 25 pounds; 160 yards of fabric were used; and 165 rosettes were applied to the skirt. Totally over the top, but beautiful nonetheless. Oprah looks happy, healthy, and 100 percent holiday ready.
