‘We Don’t Hold Any Grudges:’ Michel’le Speaks On Her Current Relationship With Dr. Dre
The first season of R&B Divas: LA ended on a pretty interesting note, with singer Michel’le revealing that her child’s father, Dr. Dre, used to physically abuse her. Since the revelation was made during the reunion show taping, many thought that Michel’le wouldn’t fully open up about the relationship again until season two of the TV One series. However, during a recent interview with Mara The Hip Hop Socialite, the 40-something-year-old singer offered a bit of insight regarding the current status of her relationship with Dre. Check out her interview highlights below.
On her relationship with Dr. Dre:
“We don’t talk very often, you know, probably not much at all. And I have that relationship with both of my kids’ fathers in that we do have a child, and we gotta talk for the child. Serious communication to a degree, of course, but we’ve grown with our lives, and that’s just what it is. We don’t hold any grudges, we don’t have any bad ill will feelings. I don’t even think we left on a note of ill will feelings. I just think we left saying, ‘you’re not trying to go where I’m trying to go, and I’m not trying to go where you’re trying to go.’ But I’ve known him for so long, that I think we could do that.”
On if she’ll be on the next season of R&B Divas: LA:
“Yeah, I hope so.”
On Kelly’s claims that tricky editing made her look crazy:
“I can’t say that, that what you guys saw was true because the show was edited to a certain extent, of course, even my parts were edited. So I can attest to that, yeah, there was some editing. I think that the situation with Kelly Price, she was cool with me. I didn’t have an issue with Kelly, but I didn’t disagree with Kelly on anything. So I think it stems from the disagreement, and I think that’s what you guys saw. You guys got the outtakes from the disagreement, so however that was displayed, it was what it was. If you ask me if Kelly is like that all the time; I don’t know, I don’t see her all the time, but I know on the TV it looked like she was like that all the time, but that was television. You gotta have some drama, and we definitely had drama.”
On co-star Dawn Robinson:
“I’ve tried to reach out to Dawn, but she hasn’t text me back.”
Are you looking forward to R&B Divas: LA season two?
