Born and raised in Michigan, Madonna moved to New York City before she was 20 to pursue her dreams of becoming a star. Soon the “Like A Virgin” singer was traveling the country and then the world. Madonna went on to become one of the biggest names in music selling over 300 million albums worldwide. Along the way, Madge apparently fell in love with all things British. She married English director Guy Ritchie and moved across the pond. And she also picked up the accent. For a time, Madonna would slip in and out of a slight British accent while conducting interviews, causing reporters and fans alike to wonder just how long she has been calling the UK home.
