Having a bad day? Well, I’ve got some news that might perk you up big time. If you were a fan of the 1996 film, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, you’ll be happy to know that a sequel could very well be on the way to a theater near you.

Martin Lawrence announced on his Instagram page that he had completed the script for the sequel to the film, which he worked on alongside former “Martin” showrunner, Bentley Kyle Evans. Evans was also co-screenwriter for the original film. Lawrence was understandably excited about it all:

And Evans took to Twitter to say, “What ya’ll think? Get ready for it!!!!”

I’m not sure where the story will go this time around, as a lot of time has passed. But then again, at the end of the original film, crazy Brandi Web (played by Lynn Whitfield) didn’t die. Instead, her character was thrown in jail for trying to kill Darnell (played by Martin Lawrence), and the film finished with this quote:

“I hope po’ baby lands on her feet, but they better make damn sure they fix that dent in her heart before they let her out.”

Could Brandi be getting out?! If the film is actually picked up by a studio, then we will find out. Considering that the original grossed more than $30 million on a budget of only $8 million, if the story is good, it could definitely be worth bringing back to the big screen.

I’m still waiting on this Bad Boys sequel, so I won’t go completely crazy over this news, but since I own and love A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, I’ll admit that I’m maaaaad excited about the possibilities! How about you?
