Trailer Alert: Are You Ready For Tyler Perry’s “A Very Madea Christmas”?

September 27, 2013  |

Hey, I guess as they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And as much money as Tyler Perry is raking in for dressing up as Madea, there’s no need to put down the wig and fake breasts yet.

So whether you’re a Madea fan or not, you better get ready, because Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas is on its way. It will be Perry’s second film of the year after Temptations, and is set to be released on December 13. It stars Perry, of course, Tika Sumpter, former One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray, comedian Larry the Cable Guy, Anna Maria Horsford, and more.

As for the plot, Madea finds herself being coaxed into helping a friend make a surprise visit to see her daughter in the country for Christmas. When they get there, mischief and drama ensues when secrets are revealed. As the synopsis says, despite all that, “Madea dishes her own brand of Christmas Spirit to all.”

As for the actual trailer, which you’ll find above, in it, Madea is dressed like Santa Claus, checking kids who want extravagant things under the tree for Christmas (“You know if you want a TV, you need a J-O-B”), and she/he provides the usual sass and wit. It definitely brings at least a light chuckle or two, but will the whole movie? You’ll have to wait and see when it comes out just in time for the holiday season. Perry fans are sure to love it, while the detractors will probably tell you how they really feel in 5, 4, 3, 2…

Will you check out A Madea Christmas when it comes out?

Yeah…….um… even though I am guilty of liking some of Tyler Perry’s work(The Haves and The Have Nots was my show for the summer), I’ll pass on this. After the first two or three Madea movies, that was enough for me.

I am huge supporter of Tyler Perry, but this Madea thing is getting old!
