Is anyone else find it completely adorable that Condola is following in her mom’s footsteps and pursuing acting? And just like an adorable mother and daughter pair, Phylicia looks like she couldn’t be happier for her daughter. Condola, along with Orlando Bloom took to the stage last night and premiered Shakespeare’s classic and probably most well-known play, “Romeo and Juliet.”
Reviews of both Condola and Orlando’s performance have been mixed. While several are generally saying it’s a good adaption, it doesn’t necessarily measure up to the ones before it, particularly “Westside Story.” One reviewer noted that Condola tries too hard to be innocent and another said that while both Bloom and Rashad performed well, their chemistry was off. But you know these critics can be dead wrong sometimes. Debbie Allen says they hated “The Wiz” back in the day and that was clearly brilliant. Either way, if Condola and Bloom are indeed missing a connection, they have some time to figure it out as the show is currently set to run through January. If you’re in New York and want to check these two out and judge their chemistry for yourself, you can purchase tickets here.
