First Lady Michelle Obama is continuing her fight in making sure American’s children become healthier.

Mrs. Obama has partnered with the Partnership for a Healthier America to get everyone, especially children, to drink more water.  The CDC recently published that one fourth of children do not drink water during the day. That definitely does not work for Mrs. Obama whose Let’s Move! program is big on exercising and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Mrs. Obama wants people to know that it drinking water is just as simple as all other programs she’s helped mobilize:

“Since we started the Let’s Move! initiative, I’ve been looking for as many ways as possible to help families and kids lead healthier lives. I’ve come to realize that if we were going to take just one step to make ourselves and our families healthier, probably the single best thing we could do is to simply drink more water. That’s it—it’s really that simple. Drink just one more glass of water a day and you can make a real difference for your health, your energy, and the way you feel. So ‘Drink Up’ and see for yourself.”

It really is something so simple and we take it for granted. If we’re going to get our children drinking water more regularly, it certainly starts with adults. How often do you hear one of your peers say how much they “hate” drinking water?  Meanwhile, they consume so much more than a normal “allowance” of juice or soda.

We’ll see if she comes up with any new creative campaigns to get the country on board with the new “Drink Up” initiative.

My mother and father taught me to drink water all day. People may laugh that we have it next to us all day with ice. Michelle made critical thinking for other selfless people. lol

        You’re embarrassing yourself right now.
Don’t blame me that you don’t get your news from a proper source.
You were literally ON THE INTERNET right when you wrote that.
Instead of stringing together that illiterate sentence fragment, you could have been googling, “Obama bombs Syria” to find out about drone strikes. I swear people like you scare the f**k out of me. Because you’d prefer to just lash out and whine about something before you even CONSIDER making an ATTEMPT to figure out what you’re talking about. It’s shameful and you should be ashamed to not know what is happening in your own country.

Water is a very important part of your diet. Water also makes your skin pretty and prevents you from having so many breakouts of bumps and blackheads in your face. I think kids should drink more water those sugary juices are not good to have all the time. I have seen to many obese kids these days.

    • PolkaDots

Yes and it could help them feel more satiated when they do eat. Which means they may be less likely to over eat.

  • tracy

Good! Water is good for the body.
