Somebody hand me a late pass because I had no idea that Columbus Short was married. But according to RadarOnline, not for too much longer. The “Scandal” actor’s wife, Tuere (who also goes by Tanee McCall-Short), allegedly filed for divorce on September 11 in Los Angeles.
She is seeking sole custody of their 19 month old daughter Ayala, spousal support and is asking that Short pay her legal fees.
According to court documents, the couple married in 2005 and the date of separation is listed as September 9, 2013.
Apparently, this will be Columbus Short’s second divorce.
He was married to another woman named Brandi but Columbus admitted that his fling with Britney Spears (yes, ya’ll the Britney Spears) led to the demise of his first marriage to a woman named Brandi. Columbus served as Spears’ backup dancer at the time.
In 2004, after ish hit the fan Columbus Short told Star Magazine about the nature of their relationship.
”It’s true I slept with Britney, [but] we never had sex because another person was in the room at the time. We shared a bed and were really close, kissing and hugging. The chemistry was magical… our feelings were so strong. Britney’s mom, Lynne, stepped in to prevent that as soon as our feelings started to develop.”
‘‘It would be fair to say Britney caused major problems in our marriage. Sadly, we’re now getting divorced. Despite everything that happened, I’ll always remember those special moments with Britney.”
