Tamar Braxton’s “Love & War” Album Debuts At Number 2; K. Michelle Doesn’t Believe It

After waiting forever and a day to get shine as a solo artist and release her first solo album, Love & War, Tamar has something to celebrate. Her album has debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. And not only that, but according to Billboard, with about 114,000 copies sold of Love & War, she has the highest sales week for a female R&B/hip-hop album since Alicia Keys released Girl on Fire last November with 159,000 copies in its first week. That’s major!

With such large numbers, you would think that Braxton would have bowed at number one, but she landed in the second spot behind teeny-bopper Ariana Grande, who sold 138,000 copies. If you’re not sure who the singer is, she’s the one they try to say sounds like a young Mariah…I wouldn’t say all that, but she aight…(*winks*) Anywho, this is a very big deal for Braxton, who is basically blowing up everywhere now with her reality shows, her talk show The Real (hurry up and renew it FOX!) and now her musical endeavors.

But alas, not everyone is happy for Braxton. As you probably know, K. Michelle tried to extend an olive branch to her, even encouraging her fans to pick up the Love & War disc . However, Braxton hasn’t been too keen on the Love and Hip Hop star’s change of heart, instead, acting as if she doesn’t know who K. Michelle is, and saying this on Power 105 recently:

“I really don’t talk about people that bully and stuff. If you do one good gesture, does that make up for you calling me a Muppet? Does that make up for you telling everyone I lip sync? I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about her. In my third day I’ve sold over 100,000 copies of my album, so we are not even in the same conversation in life. So why are we doing this?”

Unfortunately, Braxton’s bragging and pulling the bully card didn’t sit too well with K. Michelle, who YOU KNOW had to respond (read tweets from bottom to top):

K Michelle

Seriously though? First of all, can adults stop saying they’re being bullied? You’re not in a schoolyard where you have to interact with another diva every day, so it never hurts to ignore people trying to come for you, especially if it’s just on Twitter. And second of all, with all the success both of these women are having, instead of trying to act like one is better than the other or getting upset when the other doesn’t want to make peace with you, make peace with yourself! Those two are way too blessed to continuously be going back and forth. Focus on keeping that success going, because it truly doesn’t take much at all to lose it…

Tamars album is solid. I slept on it. :)

Tamar has great singing talent no doubt. She has a throwback singing style mixed with modern flavor. :)

      • CourtneyrrR

I agree. Thinking an updated Tony Braxton but a little more street.

        • truthseeker2436577@yahoo.com

LOL. I know what you mean Sister. Tamar can blow no doubt. Prettiest Girl is a great song that she created too. Real song. You can tell that she made that song from her heart. Her recent album has massive vocals.

Tamar’s “success” has been fake and manufactured since the beginning. The entire point of her marriage to Vince, Toni intentionally leaking her entire “Pulse” album, Braxton Family Values, Tamar&Vince, her showing up at all of Toni’s interviews (Having Toni talk to her and take pictures with her), being seen on a boat with Gaga, having Gaga tell her monsters to support Tamar, etc were ALL to make Tamar famous.

The sad part? Even that crap didn’t work well. With all that backing Tamar she be the hottest chick going. She should be selling out Madison Square Garden and going platinum on the real charts (Billboard not iTunes). But she isn’t. Time to face the fact that Tamar is and will never be the diva she wants to be. SHE is a loudmouth and that’s all.

  • YouStupid!

It seems that Kmichelle is falling back into her hoodish antics. If she is so about getting her paper why in the world is she worrying about Tamar and this verbal warfare is between the two of them it seems like she is running out of things to say since she has started in on Vince – who is really about making that paper and could crush her with his wallet. These are the same antics that started turning her fans off to begin with..pace yourself Girly before it ends before it begins (again).

They are on the same level. Tamar is not a superstar and neither k michelle. Vince didnt even want 2 put his own wife on. So they are ssimilar bcuz they both had career flops and on reality tv. Only diff is tamar married rich.

    K. Michelle is funny!!! I love it when she talks about people. I love me some Tamar also she had me on the floor with the first two seasons of the Braxtons- They both have dished on other people and matters that weren’t their business. K. does say some true stuff even though she shouldn’t be voicing it publicly but she has some funny points. Tamar is too old to be having rifts with women. They both need to stop. I like them both

  • TiredOf TheNonsense

I love the enthusiasm about those two…
I’ve actually done the REAL research & as much as the media want to sell those two, WE the people are speaking & figures NEVER lie.

Once we get past the 1st week hype (And maybe a little help for the little sister: because as she very idiotically said herself “If you heard it, then it is!”), we’ll see what people think…

None of those 2 will sell more than 200.000 copies at the end of the road (look at the trends, figures don’t lie) which is VERY average for women & in the low half for R&B in general.

I’m sorry: 200000 copies (The 100000 smoke + the cents) is good compared to the nothing she sold of her first album (that she graciously & courageously DENIED as her own: maybe that was me singing in my sleep) BUT it doesn’t make it ANY great.

And for the other one: it’s her first album, so same here! And she actually didn’t benefit from the superstar OVER-treatment her alter-ego (be honest, they sound the EXACT same + a little autotune) got without having done or deserved nothing.

But still, at the end of the day, figures don’t matter much, quality does. And here again: WHO can honestly tell me that they will remember ANY of those songs in 2 years? (I’m generous)

i honestly don’t understand how most critics (Vince’s friends maybe) can tell you: Oh, 3 songs are good, the rest is medium to low quality. But they STILL give it a good review.

Here we are people, here we are! Ever asked yourself why after all that praise, you still read comments from people everywhere saying: we’ve settled for mediocre in the music industry? There you have it!

And BTW, music aside: NEITHER of those women are good examples for ANY child NOWHERE. So can the media PLEASE stop with the nonsense? THANK YOU

I’m sorry it’s a bit long but I’m just tired of it.

I can only speak for Love and War, but the album is REALLY good. Tamar has an amazing voice. I think Love and War, the single has longevity

  • Tangie

Clarification…. this is Tamar’s SECOND album

  • newgirl

The crazy part is I like both women vocally but I won’t buy either album from them because they are so messy. I wish we could go back to the days were the focus is on the music.

  • Nya Jacobsen

I agree with Tamar, they not in the same league. I looove Tamar’s cd, and I want her to win. I actually like her. While K Michele comes across as an insecure angry spiteful telemarketer. K Michele need to stop all that howling and take singing lessons. Usually when people apologize it doesn’t sound like they have an attitude. Sidenote: These reality shows really help you get to know and hate people. K Michele wasn’t even on my radar until LHHATL. And that jerk Kelly Price from R&B Divas.

  • bluekissess

I am so sick of these two. To me it always sounds like k Michelle is jealous. Not only against Tamar but anybody she runs into. When its something she lacks she finds someone to pick on. Its sad. She needs therapy and in my opinion I think Tamar sings better than K Michelle anyways.

    • faithful828

      agreed!

  • MRSJONES0507

I bought both albums I’m more impressed with Tamar’s, don’t get me wrong K’s is okay.
    K. Michelle should do a spell check before posting tweets last time I checked this is how you spell bought and bully doesn’t have an e in it.

    • FAITHFUL828

      LOL

  • Just a Question

I guess no one is really buying albums anymore..back in the day, 100,000 copies would be a major flop. I guess it all depends on who the artist is..Justin Timberlake went platinum after the first week

    • Karri Drawhorn

Thank you-do they even release whole albums anymore-I”m 40 and I can’t keep up with how this “music” biz works-but I agree totally

  • FeelsGood

Tamar…pot meet kettle? How many people has she gone in on and talked bad about with no regard? Now she wants to get all offended when someone calls her a muppet and can’t forgive and move on?

And why is K.Michelle so angry?

I think her (K. Michelle) and Tami Roman need to go check into the same rehabilitation facility. SMDH.

    • YouStupid!

She and Tamar are two of a kind all way down to the hair…but the insults should stay between them. Why be disrespectful to someone who hasn’t said or did anything to you?

  • Trisha_B

Was the shade towards Ariana Grande necessary? That girl has a huge following, believe it or not, so im not surprised by her numbers.

Anywho, im happy for Tamar!!! Vince & his boobs hold weight in the industry, so K should watch herself lol. & shes constantly talking about someone physical look, but has she looked at her artificial body lately

  • Gworl!

    Death to Twitter!

  • Stlbjh

This is not Tamar first solo album. Do your research.

    • realadulttalk

It is with this face!! Lol

  • Sheena B

This is out of control. K. Michelle needs to grow up and “shut up and sing”.

  • Tee Elyse

    K. always wanna go in on somebody man because for the longest she didn’t have one… she needs to cut it out!! I can’t stand petty females! Tamar is one at times too, but this been K.’s M.O. since she got on reality TV

  • Shea

She should have left Vince out of it, he has a lot more pull in the industry than she thinks

    • Renae-Nay

Yea, he is no Kirk, she might wanna zip those lips. Vince and his man boobs have more pull than she can EVER have

    • faithful828

My thoughts exactly @Shea, she did the same childish thing with Rasheedah. She’s not mature enough to have a one on one situation with anyone without bringing their significant other into the mix. Honestly, I bought both albums and there’s only one I regret buying, and it sure is not Tamar’s…

    • Dutty_Yo

Yes! Hello K! Vince and Tamar laugh all the way to the bank and cash those Gaga checks.

    • realadulttalk

I agree–she better watch herself before she ends up blacklisted. Not that I think anyone is lining up to work with her now.

    • Maxine Shaw

Last I checked, K has a manager, too. She’s just not married to him is all.

    • D.D

She was already black listed once and is lucky a label gave her a chance she is about to be in that same boat of people ignoring her and not wanting to deal with her she already got a warning…..she really needs to chill.

  • Danica Jackson

Shady Boots, LMAOO I CANT!!!!! LOL!
