Tamar Braxton’s “Love & War” Album Debuts At Number 2; K. Michelle Doesn’t Believe It
After waiting forever and a day to get shine as a solo artist and release her first solo album, Love & War, Tamar has something to celebrate. Her album has debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. And not only that, but according to Billboard, with about 114,000 copies sold of Love & War, she has the highest sales week for a female R&B/hip-hop album since Alicia Keys released Girl on Fire last November with 159,000 copies in its first week. That’s major!
With such large numbers, you would think that Braxton would have bowed at number one, but she landed in the second spot behind teeny-bopper Ariana Grande, who sold 138,000 copies. If you’re not sure who the singer is, she’s the one they try to say sounds like a young Mariah…I wouldn’t say all that, but she aight…(*winks*) Anywho, this is a very big deal for Braxton, who is basically blowing up everywhere now with her reality shows, her talk show The Real (hurry up and renew it FOX!) and now her musical endeavors.
But alas, not everyone is happy for Braxton. As you probably know, K. Michelle tried to extend an olive branch to her, even encouraging her fans to pick up the Love & War disc . However, Braxton hasn’t been too keen on the Love and Hip Hop star’s change of heart, instead, acting as if she doesn’t know who K. Michelle is, and saying this on Power 105 recently:
“I really don’t talk about people that bully and stuff. If you do one good gesture, does that make up for you calling me a Muppet? Does that make up for you telling everyone I lip sync? I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about her. In my third day I’ve sold over 100,000 copies of my album, so we are not even in the same conversation in life. So why are we doing this?”
Unfortunately, Braxton’s bragging and pulling the bully card didn’t sit too well with K. Michelle, who YOU KNOW had to respond (read tweets from bottom to top):
Seriously though? First of all, can adults stop saying they’re being bullied? You’re not in a schoolyard where you have to interact with another diva every day, so it never hurts to ignore people trying to come for you, especially if it’s just on Twitter. And second of all, with all the success both of these women are having, instead of trying to act like one is better than the other or getting upset when the other doesn’t want to make peace with you, make peace with yourself! Those two are way too blessed to continuously be going back and forth. Focus on keeping that success going, because it truly doesn’t take much at all to lose it…
