A few months back we reported on a new track from Timbaland featuring Keri Hilson titled, “Sorry.” During an interview, Timb revealed that the song was actually an apology track dedicated to his old friend Jay Z, whom he recently made amends with after the two had a falling out in 2009.
“I’ll tell you the story man. Me and Jay, let me tell you something about real friends. You fall out and then you make back up. Me and Jay fell out, I missed his 40th. He didn’t miss mine, he did sent me a gift. But, I missed his and it was over petty stuff, it was more personal stuff and disagreements. It was not no industry related, it was more personal, and I was wrong,” the 41-year-old Virginia native said of their feud.
Interestingly, he also expressed that through the song, Keri Hilson sought to squash her long-lived rumored beef with Beyoncé.
“I got this one song that I did with Keri on my album called “Sorry,” and Keri actually tells the story about the whole Beyoncé thing and how she was sorry about it because she wasn’t really talking about Beyoncé, but other people. It says it in the song.”
Two months later, Keri is speaking out about the song and according to her, Timbaland misrepresented her verse. When asked by Global Grind about the song where she’s supposedly apologizing to Beyonce, Kerry responded:
“There’s really nothing more to tell about that song. There’s really nothing to be said about it. What I will say, is the way Tim represented my verse is a little off. It’s not something I want to talk about right now. It’s not important to me. I’m not even sure if that song will be on the album.”
“It’s not what he made it seem, I will say that.”
