Now that winter weather is upon us, it’s important to stay moisturized. African-American skin is sensitive to harsh winds and tends to experience excessive dryness this time of the year. But this is not the time to give up. Don’t neglect your skin all winter and then scramble to get right in the summer. Thank you for your nice article. There are many useful information.

    Habibi all day. Nothing better.

  • goddessmade

I use Habibi products and have for about the last 5 years. That balm is the most awesome thing ive ever used. I use it on my skin and on my and my daughters hair. I use it on face. Im 41 and can and have easily passed for 10 years younger and its LOADED with organic shea and the most delicious frgrances. I get mine customed blended.

Habibi body makes some fabulous products. I have used them for over four (gasp!) years now. I am glad that the word is finally getting out. Its well deserved attention.

The body balm is my favorite for the winter as it keeps my skin moist and supple. The scent lasts all day too which is rare for many products these days.

Oh wow, I love HABIBI and highly recommend all of their skin products. The body balm you showed is so TERRIFIC! I received it as a gift and went for some more products and am now a believer. The balm is good all day long without being too greasy or sticky. Also, all the products smell wonderful, not too strong or sweet – the fragrances are all natural and I get so many compliments when I use the entire 'suite' of products (e.g., soap, lotion, balm, oil). And this from a woman who isn't a big lotion, or skin care, fan but HABIBI is definitely a favorite – it makes me a convert.

i love using Keri lotion… I love the sheen it gives my skin. Use sparingly because it's so thick but make my skin feel luxurious!!!

I like the combination of Palmers lotion and Calvin Kline's Eternity has me smelling like a chocolate pastry!

  • Orleanas

    Curel all the way!

I use SANKOFA 100% pure shea butter, nothing else is added it's completely organic shea butter and my skin is amazing! i just heat a little in the microwave or vigurously rub it between my palms to make application easier, even on my face. it's the perfect all in one moisturiser, i evem use it to deep condition my hair. Highly reccomended, but remember to check the label it must be only shea butter" nothing else. im 24 and i look 18…seriously i cannot rate this product highly enough. m,mmmmm

  • ???yeah

gray, so yours saying that baby oil is bad as well, because its made from mineral oil too

  • Have a Seat

Palmers is awesome for me. I use to have dark stretch marks. I personally wouldn't take any advice on whats good and bad for your skin unless the readers are Doctors of Dermatology. No offense, but rumors about things start from out of nowhere. My skin is great and i've been using Palmer's for ages, since i was a child.

I usually go by the first 2-3 ingredients on products because that's what it'll have the most of. I'm currently using Johnson's Baby Creamy Oil (cocoa and shea butter one) and Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom triple cream. I like the latter one better. Think I'll try Carol's Daughter Body Jelly when something runs out, I'm just trying to stay away from that Palmer's.

Ay, Madame Noire really does read our posts. I suggested this on the How To Cute in the Winter thread. Ashiness is serious issue that needs to be addressed though.

  • Aboogie

ooo and nivia triple moisture is soooooo great all year

  • MJB

I've been using St. Ives Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter for the last month and it made me retire my cocoa butter. I have severe winter dryness and this does the trick without making me oily like cocoa butter. And its like $3.50 a bottle.

Most of these products are overprice and not worth it, are more like paimt stripper.

Shea butter = bad for face

No thanks
