You Know You’re Getting Older When…

1. You have to translate texts from your younger relatives.
“wUz Uppppp!?!!?!!  Thnx 4 comMinnng 2 my gaaaaAaamEeee!!! Ur welcs 4 da tiX!!” That translates to “What’s up? Thanks for coming to my game. You’re welcome for the tickets.” Poor you. Maybe you should invest in an under-22 translation dictionary.

I would just like to point out that I'm only 18 and I get the urge to yell "pull up you pants!" Personally I don't like to see butts hanging out of pants.

#1 is sooo true. I've had to hide some of my young relatives' status updates because I get so frustrated trying to figure out WTH they're talking about.

Skandoolust you're speaking my language. I don't care what people think or say — that's when I knew I was older, much older. Honestly, when I was young I hated bad english speaking persons. I never learned a 2nd language and this was the reason why, lol. Baggy pants that show your underwear — ugh, that's just nasty. I'm hyper so I've been sleeping 5-6 hours a day all my life, even now that I'm over 30. Like I said, I knew I was getting old when I just didn't give a damn what people thought. Literally.

You know you're getting old when you don't give a damn what people think anymore.

You know you're getting old when your toenails are getting thicker.

You know you're getting old when you have to use the bathroom more frequently and bad, too.

Omg!!! WHY are you guys puttin my business in the STREET!!! im only 23 I went to the store with my nephew and these young girls were cussin and talkin loud and one girl said to me. "I'm sorry miss we are outta line, we respect our elders" I wanted to lie on floor in fetal position and cry!"

  • Punkin

You know you're old when lists like this don't even bother you anymore.

One of the best things about getting older is that you don't feel like you need anyone else's approval for sh!t!

The best lesson to learn for all of those who fear age is to embrace it. Hug each and every year because there have been so many people throughout the world's history who are/were better than us and couldn't make it to the age we are now.

Be good to each year and they will be good to you. (I'm 36 yrs. young)
