Last week, we reported Oprah’s OWN network ordered a new reality show called ‘Crazy.S*xy.Life’. The show is about four New York City women who pound the Concrete Jungle’s pavement daily for their grind but always find time for one another.
The cast of the show includes Kiyah, a celebrity hairstylist and the sista-friend who brought the other three women, Chenoa, Bershan, and Tiffany, together. The quartet has been friends for ten years now, with two of the women being married and the other two single.
OWN debuted the show’s preview after the fall finale of Tyler Perry’s evening drama “The Haves And The Have Nots,” when Oprah announced to OWN fans on Twitter:
Unfortunately, Oprah’s Tweethearts sent her mixed reviews on the new show. Some believed the show was lacking an “it” factor and others weren’t too excited they’d have to wait until January 2014 for the season debut.
During the first episode of “Crazy.S*xy. Life,” we meet Chenoa and Kiyah. While getting her hair done, Chenoa opens up to Kiyah about her pending separation from her husband who believes they no longer need to be together because Chenoa doesn’t want to have children. Chenoa reveals she misses her old self- the career woman and that she’s put work on hold for three years to ensure she would be able to get pregnant. Despite the fertility treatments, Chenoa never became pregnant.

The second clip of the pilot show the women catching up over dinner; here we meet Tiffany and Bershan who are frenemies. Both survived breast cancer and have philanthropic organizations that provide support for women who dealt or undergoing healing from the disease. While on a trip to Ghana, the two became to distrust one another due to mixing their businesses and friendship together. Although the two appear to have settled their differences Bershan keeps her distance from Tiffany, not fully trusting who she is.
‘Crazy.S*xy.Life’ exposes how women try to maintain romantic relationships without losing their authenticity. It also focuses on the key factor of support, an element career driven women need when balancing friendship, jealousy and competition.
