I just completed a virtual assignment for a major US company, and it was the best job I’ve ever had!! Looking for another one. No distractions, no co-workers with pissy attitudes, no boss hovering over my cube. And I got TONS of work done.

I love working from home. but like you said, you can have distractions such as small children in the house which can make it difficult to work from home. I don’t care about interactions with co-workers on site. I don’t have to deal with them face to face.

Who is writing this stuff? There is a such thing called metrics that employers can use to determine productivity. Duh.

With the proper training, assessment, support from your company and family and person can overcome all of the ‘reasons’ listed on this article. I have 40% of my organization working successfully from home. People are honest with themselves about how distracted they will be and choose not to work from home.
