Ish just got real — a little too real — on Sheryl Underwood’s Twitter timeline this morning.

It seems last night the comedian was having a good time poking fun at the insults being thrown Lil Kim’s way during the MTV VMAs, and as a result Lil Kim’s stans came back in full force with some very rude comments directed at the funny woman.

The crazy thing is Sheryl wasn’t really saying anything herself. The host of “The Talk” was simply retweeting things that came her way, like:

As you can see, Sheryl is pretty much an equal opportunity shader, but since a retweet is essentially seen as a cosign in Twitter speak, it didn’t take long before Lil Kim’s e-goons got word of the shade and started taunting Sheryl as well.

Monkey? Ape? Really? Isn’t interested how everyone’s inner racist seems to come out when someone says something they don’t like? Sheryl seemed to take it all in stride, retweeting the nastiness that came her way. And it turns out she had some goons of her own who had her back. When asked what was her problem with the Queen Bee, Sheryl explained that there was none.

Though there’s never an excuse to call someone out of their name, we assume Sheryl might think twice before retweeting anything else on Twitter going forward. Do you think she deserved any of the backlash she received for encouraging taunting of Lil Kim?
