Some ideas can actually change the world. That is what Jessica Matthews and Julie Silverman have done. They are co-creators of SOCCKET, a soccer ball that, while in play, harnesses enough energy to be used as a portable power source. It is just the first innovation of the company, Uncharted Play that is helping impoverished and developing countries around the world.

In May of 2011, Matthews and Silverman founded Uncharted Play, which aims to show the world that doing good and doing good business need not be mutually exclusive. It all started in college in 2008 when Matthews and Silverman met during their junior year at Harvard College. Both were studying to be social scientists. They worked on a class project along with a few other students to invent the SOCCKET even though neither had any engineering experience. Once they were successful, they realized how life-changing an innovation it was.
