“Tell Her Come On Back Home”: Chad Johnson Tweets About Evelyn Lozada During “Basketball Wives” Premiere

chad johnson evelyn lozada

If you weren’t aware, Basketball Wives Miami premiered last night after being on break since spring of 2012. And while the last season (the fourth) was a myriad of bottle throwing, face-slapping, table jumping, purse-stealing bad behavior, this time around, it was a dull soap opera surrounding the aftermath of Evelyn Lozada’s altercation with her now ex-husband Chad Johnson. She’s seen getting ready to spill the beans in interviews and talking to her mother, her daughter and the other cast members about how she feels and whether or not she should go back to him.

Of course, out of all the major players in that dramatic saga, Chad Johnson was nowhere to be found on-camera (remember when they had their first date–and sex–on the show a few seasons ago?). For a while, the two looked like they might slowly but surely work things out, and they were even speaking lovey-dovey Spanish to one another across social media. But then Twitter drama ensued and folks were spilling their personal business to the world about who was really out here cheating. Last time we checked, Johnson and Lozada weren’t really on speaking terms. But last night during the premiere, he was saying that the show is losing steam, and at one point, he tried to imply that he wanted Lozada back (read each tweet from the bottom):

Chad 1

Chad III

Chad II

Chad V

Always with the Twitter mind games in these streets. Surprisingly, it was Lozada’s daughter who came out and said during the show that she was never really a fan of Chad, and Evelyn shared her animosity towards the former footballer for his choice to supposedly not stick up for her (which entails him letting people know she didn’t do anything to warrant the headbutt). Tami of all people actually felt that Evelyn should “step out on faith” and give their relationship a second try. While we know that they haven’t patched things up, with these cryptic messages, who knows what Ev and Chad will be down for in the future… *shakes head*

What do you think of his comments? And what did you think of last night’s premiere?

Chad should keep it moving. Evelyn is not worth the work.

  • really

I’m tired of hearing about Chad on bbw and Elvelyn crying. She needs to wake up and move on for awhile. If a man did this to her daughter, sister, or mother would her mindset be the same. Do she really miss the man if so, she knows what she’s getting or does she miss the lifestyle and the rest are the consequences of being married to Chad. Bbw need to talk about something else and not was that your husband that slept with the chef. There starting to act like teenagers again. That’s how grown folks talk, really!

  • Lisa

If she goes back to him she is more of a jackass than he is.
What is wrong with tami telling her to give it another try. I guess you condone domestic violence?

  • Sumi

Whoa!!! All of you crazy people need to understand that it’s not a RACE thing! He’s someone kids look upto. A social figure. Domestic abuse is unacceptable. Doesn’t matter if she’s a Latina or black. She was beaten by her husband and that is not alright. It’s so sad how people scrutinize unnecessary things and forget the bigger picture. Shame on all of you

    • nikki

It is about race..these black athletes n entertainers flock to any ol white woman..how many white athletes, entertainers marrying black women…NOT MANY they get with their own!!

  • enlightenment

It’s sad that most of these comments are practically excusing Chad’s horrible/gruesome behavior because “she deserved it.” No one wants to talk about how Chad played a large part in—hmmm oh I don’t know—bashing her head in?!

None of us are angels and we’ve done things in our past that we’re not proud of—does that mean when a man breaks your skull that you deserve it because of your past? Erm. No! Chad is a nutcase and was never marriage material—Evelyn’s mistake was getting with such an abusive manho in the beginning.

I suspect her bullying ways on BBW stem from insecurities. If you think an asswhoopin will fix these inner problems, y’all are straight up ignoramuses.

    • PleaseDOBetter

“For every action, there is an equal or opposite reaction”. Science. No one is condoning domestic violence, but no one has sympathy for her either.

Everyone has insecurities, that doesn’t mean they turn those insecurities into destructive behaviors. I don’t advocate violence, but I do advocate for people to treat others how they expect to be treated.

      • enlightenment

Ever heard “two wrongs don’t make right” or “Violence doesn’t solve anything? “If you wanna talk about science, let’s talk about psychology. MANY people turn their horrible childhood upbringing, insecurities, or any other baggage into destructive behaviors like bullying and violence.

You’re talking about Evelyn…but we’re not talking about how CHAD is completely in the wrong, too? I doubt that this is the first time Evelyn has gotten physically abused/attacked—especially since she attracts the WRONG kind of guys/people. All the time. I don’t think it helps “change her ways.”BOTH Evelyn and Chad, by the way they act, they have some deep-rooted issues that need to be resolved

        • PleaseDOBetter

I have heard of those things. In my original comment, I said that no one is condoning domestic violence. I don’t think DV is funny at all. I also don’t think putting hands on other women or profiting from DV is funny either.

In case it wasn’t clear, Chad is absolutely in the wrong and responsible for his actions. There hasn’t been as much talk about Chad in this situation because he is not running around running his mouth about this-she is, so she (and her prior bad acts) become the focus.

  • Patricia

I guess Lozado is going to milk this cow until she can’t milk it any more. Getting all the attention as much as she can. I guess since Chad messed up his NFL career and he does not have anything else to do with all his time. Instead of him putting his business out on the internet, he needs to work on himself and get a skill to earn a living to pay his child support and rely on some team signing him. That is not guaranteed he will get signed.

  • folamix

This was the first season that I watched the show and I have not followed the incident between Evelyn and Chad in the news at all. But I could tell that he was not ready for marriage, especially by his responses to questions she asked him. Don’t get me wrong. A man should never headbutt a woman, under any circumstances. But the whole thing makes me think that she is not as innocent in this as she is trying to portray. As for Tami’s advice, out the door. I could never go back to someone who had done that to me because, in the back of my mind, I would always wonder, is he going to go there again?

  • NeaJ

I’m glad she decided not to go back to him. Idk why he proposed in the 1st place knowing he wasn’t ready to be a faithful husband. He’s an immature, pompous individual who needs to grow up. I don’t have a problem with asking friends for advice but at the end of the day, a person is gonna do what is best for them & that’s what she did. Hopefully this experience has taught them a lesson

What the freak does her behavior last season have to do with her catching her husband cheating and being head butted? I’m no Evelyn fan, but no one man or woman deserves what she went through. What ever happened to empathy? Smh

    • lockstress

Where was Evelyn’s empathy for the women on the show she bullied?
Where was her empathy when she sat and watched Tammy bully others?
I can see her getting in his face acting all big and bad and voila….they are 2 the same and cut from the same cloth.
That’s like asking for empathy for a rapist that rapes women while he’s out, gets caugh, is sent to jail and now is getting raped himself.
No woman is s’posed to get hit. But this one here….I’m sorry. No empathy.
(not starting a fight…just answering your question with my personal opinion)

      • ccpeachgal

I guarantee you she has empathy now.

      • smh

WOMEN. THIS WAS BETWEEN WOMEN. Just as men can fight each other (UFC for example) women can fight each other. MEN should not fight women and women should not fight men. That is NOT OK.

        • PleaseDOBetter

You are missing the central point altogether. It DOES NOT MATTER that Evelyn was fighting with other women or that Chad put his hands (or head in this case) on Evelyn. A central lesson we all learn is to keep our hands to ourselves. THAT IS WHAT MATTERS. From your message it seems as if you condone violence as long as it is stays within the same sex rather than across the sexes. I truly hope that that is not what you are trying to convey.

  • blackdolphin

Let’s see, she slept with him the first night she met him in person. She was with another player for 10 years, no ring. Slept with Tamis’ ex-husband. Had a conversation with Chad about his women, (she tried to clean that up last night). She jumped across a table to beat another woman. She has verbally abused a lot of the women on the show. Has done some underhanded things to everyone she knows, no doubt. Had a “fake” fix my life with Ilyanla.
Now she wants sympathy/empathy. This has got to be one of the thirstiest woman I have ever seen. She wanted the lifestyle, to be the wife of a player, the money, the prestige, etc. Well Ev, you got your wish. I guess you were not smart enough to know that EVERYTHING has a price. The smart women know whether or not they want to pay that price, whatever it is good or bad. Chad wasn’t no prize to start with. Maybe more of your relationship should have been out in open, and peoples opinion would be different. From what we saw, you were just a messy as he was. I do however, detest the fact that he got physical. That was low. Otherwise, no sympathy here.

    • GirlSixx

Imma just put my cosign right here ^^^^^
I was saying the same exact thing..
I guess she thought MARRIAGE was going to change him.. o__o No BOO!! marriage doesn’t change a person’s character just their relationship status, remember that. She basically gave him permission to cheat before they got married” just give me heads up/ keep me informed”, but did she think he really was tryin to let her know everytime he was about to slide off? o__O #delusional

      • blackdolphin

I see that from your below comments, you contradicted yourself….

        • blackdolphin

Sorry, it posted to the wrong person. It was aimed at sweetmaggieb.

      • blackdolphin

        see below..

    • bluekissess

I thought it was something wrong with me but I don’t have sympathy for this five head looking chick either. Her Karma came back and head butted her a**

    • Ann

You told the truth. Don’t forget when Lozado speak or does interview, she can’t even give a response without having a foul mouth.

  • Guest

This twitter ish kills me……. who is saying what and who is responding? Infact never mind, let me get back to doing something constructive.

  • Kylie

Did anyone else lol at Evelyn talking about Chad messes with birds? Hypocrisy much?

  • Lockstress

No one cares about the plight of a professional baller nut bag gutter rat degenerate bully on the come up!
She’s Bronx filth and should stay there. Nope…take that back…they’re trying to clean up the Bronx!
All this psuedo celeb money and “bout that life” status and yo momma still living in the PJ’s!
Chile boo-hoo! That headbut is as close to being “ahead” as you’ll ever get. Rican trash!
Giving a bad name to all the hard working Latina women I know.

    • Ebony Ballard

damn you went in lol but I kinda agree. Between her and Erica Mena from LHHNY they are making females from the BX look really bad!

    • bluekissess

      Dang you said PJ’s lol

    • therealjanedoe

And yet here you are commenting about it.

  • Chey

I think Tami’s comments were really messed up. Why on earth would you encourage someone to go back to their abuser??!

    • GymJunkie43

I think Tami’s comments were a low key diss, as in to say, “you are two peas in a pod”. Let’s not forget the past 2 seasons that showed Evelyn jumping across tables, “purse-butting” and sleeping with married athletes. The show has clearly run its course and VH1 is using the Chad incident to gain viewers…at Chad’s expense.

      • therealjanedoe

No Chad head butting someone, especially his wife, was at his expense.

    • blackdolphin

Do you honestly think Evelyn was innocent in all of this? Really??

      • SweetMaggieB

Yes! No one makes another person hit them. Any time any one chooses to hit another, it’s that person’s choice. She didn’t make him bust her in the head with his own. That’s not how hitting/abuse works. We all make decisions. He made the decision to hit her. PERIOD!

        • blackdolphin

Really, as violent as Ev has been on this show??? Ev did not “know” Chad, because she was in to big a hurry to be a “Baller’s” wife. Had she taken the time to get to know him, maybe she would have seen this coming. I speak from years of experience, and being in abusive relationships myself, not from viewing this show. I am reminded each time I look in the mirror. I understand what you are saying. There are times you need to follow your instincts. I’ll bet she had a clue, and ignored it because she had her own agenda. Sometimes we as women need to put ourselves first in a relationship and pay attention to the signs that are not obvious. I’ll bet hard money this was not her first run in with the hand of an angry man. Again, she is not the total innocent she portrays. No woman ever deserves to be hit by a man.

          • therealjanedoe

She won’t be the first or last woman guilty of not going with her instinct. She probably isn’t fortunate enough to have your good sense.

        Victim blaming?

    • ccpeachgal

her dysfunctional ghetto self needs to not give any advice to anyone

    • Red in Tennessee

Did she go back to hers

  • ShayB

So when VH1 gonna put this show (and us) out its misery and cancel this show already? What happened to Evelyn shouldn’t happen to any woman but why are they still talking about this a year later? Move on already.

  • bluekissess

I think the first episode was boring. I think that situation fizzled and died 2012. I wasn’t interested.

  • GymJunkie43

None of Chad’s black baby mommas was good enough to marry, he wanted some trash just because she’s light bright and damn near white. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. Evelyn is hilarious. Its ok for her to attack people and sleep with married men but the minute her husband headbutts her for speaking on his cheating, she runs to the media and plays innocent victim. And why does Evelyn’s daughter look like she’s a good 15 years older than Evelyn?

    • bluekissess

The person that he chose is a direct reflection on how he feels about himself. So if Evelyn is trash what in the world does that make him?

      • GymJunkie43

Well we all know he is a wreckless Jackass. I just found it offensive that this hood Latina was good enough to marry and live life like a princess but none of all the black women, you have kids with, were seen as “worthy”. We all saw what Evelyn thought of him. She’s still not done dragging his name through the mood when he did exactly what she’s done.

        • bluekissess

I’m not understanding your point. I think his other baby mamas dodged a bullet or a headbutt.

          • Guest360

Right?! Thank god he didn’t marry any of his baby mamas. Who knows what kind of behavior these children would have seen. Hes a cheater, a narcissist, and willing to headbutt/hurt his wife when he’s caught doing wrong. This is not someone any black woman should be mad got away. He’s a horrible person.

        • Tarik Asim

In reality, she’s black. Latina is not a race. Latino is code word for mixed race since the Muslim Moors (Black Muslims) ruled Spain and Portugal for 700 years. So Spain and Portugal colonized 98% of Mexico, Central and South America and the Carribean, they’re already black and European, then you mix more African Slaves and Indigenous Indians into the gene pool, what you got then? Now that the history lesson is over, why you think them Latina’s got wagons?! LOL. But seriously, she’s black no matter how you wanna spin it.

          • brian

thank you for that history lesson research my people and lets do better pick each other up

          • DrawTheLine

Stop claiming those people. White folks don’t claim them. Let them stay in their own lane. That’s one of the reasons we have so many skin-shade issues now in our race…too many different folk thrown in the mix…stay in your latin, latina, latino, Spanish, Puerto rican, whatever lane…I’m good over here in my Black/African-American lane.

            • therealjanedoe

Yeah right because there’s only one shade of white.

          • Puerto Rican Princess

I like that you broke it down for these haters. I am Latina, latino, Puerto Rican, but I do know the roots. Most black women want their lane but baby we can take all lanes! LMAO and yes the Wagon is something they continue to hate. Keep it moving haters!

          • Camisha Nsiah

            Thank you!

          • Andrea

Exactly. There is a reason the US census has a box for “black non-hispanic”. That is because Hispanic is a culture not a race and some hispanics are black. People are always asking me if I’m Honduran, Dominican , Puerto Rican ect. and I am black. my great granddaddy was a black man from Mexico. Lots of African descent people living in Vera Cruz and Acapulco.

        • Wayne Jones

Get over it. No one is required by default to marry or have a higher chance of marrying someone just because they share skin tone in common. I guess you find it offensive every time some black person doesn’t force themselves to always make sure they only marry other black people.

News flash, people like who they like and one is not required to like their same race just due to the mere fact you were born the same color. No one is better or less than because they have darker or lighter skin. No one chooses their race, you deserve no credit for being whatever race you are, as it was handed to you at birth that required no effort on your part to be.

    • Nia

He married Ev because it meant money and fame. He only liked her because he liked having s ex with her.

      • GymJunkie43

Exactly. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. If Antoine Walker, after 10 years, didn’t put a ring on it maybe it’s bc she’s not wife material.

    • boo

Where is the “like” button!!!!!! Couldn’t have said any better #shespeakstruth……..Evelyn Lozada has moved on to Carl Crawford another hundred millionaire who plays for the Dodgers so this is all a bunch of bs.

      • Melyssa

Dang, for real?? After all of this she still caught another baller??!!! You sure it’s not her daughter who is dating this baller? I was for certain that Evelyn would be on the date a baller’s blacklist by now.

      • Sheree

He’s stupid. He just had another baby with his baby mama. Ithought they were together but I guess not
