If you follow Maxwell on Instagram, you know that there are three things the delicious singer’s followers love to ask him about: When he’s going to put out a new album, why he’s so fine, and…oh yeah, why the women that are often all over his Instagram photos aren’t black. The singer seems to do a lot of traveling a lot of the time, and during his travels, he runs around with a lot of colorful characters, taping short videos, taking fun pictures, and cheesing it up with the ladies. To the chagrin of a few, many of these women are leggy European beauties, and after Maxwell posted a few too many pictures of these ladies in a row (including the one below), some decided to try and question him. And in all honesty, people have made some negative comments about the women he shows on his page in the past, though he says they’re friends. A few people took it too far, I guess, and he finally blew.

A few of the comments included the following:

“Here we go again with the white girls SMH Let’s see some Beautiful African Women”

“Ewww where are the beautiful sisters”

“No hate, but there is a lack of diversity and they are sooooooo skinny. #neverleaveoutyourcorefanbase”

“I’ve been Swallowed that pill.. For a about a month now you will not see him with NO women of color and this girl has her legs wide open?? Oh well to each his own SMH”
Seeing the barrage of negative comments about his alleged friends, Max put some folks in their place (excuse the social media spelling errors to come), including one negative Nancy he said this to: “you’re using me to get a look, get a skill get a man and find a life!”

“sick if som of you chiming in on my friends and Insulting them with racists comments you know nothing you assume everything and you should know better and worship is for GOD not me so sit down”

“I don’t give a f**k I’m putting ever[sic] type a girl in my Instagram go f**k yourself if you’re a racists[sic] a**hole!!!!”

In the end, a majority of his followers defended him and reminded folks that he can date, be friends with and take pictures of whomever he so pleases. And last night when posting pictures, the singer dubbed it “non-racist day” saying, “happy non-racist day love everybody” and “happy love everybody day” using hashtags, #happyloveeverybodyday and #noracismallowed.

So yes folks, things got real. But as he said, folks should stop assuming things based on every photo he puts up. Shoot, as long as he hurries up and puts out new music, I don’t care what or who he might be doing at this point…
