Unfortunately, we have some extremely sad news to report on today. The oldest son of R&B singer Usher Raymond, Usher Raymond V is currently being treated in the intensive care unit of a Georgia hospital after he was involved in a serious accident at the singer’s home yesterday evening.

According to TMZ, around 6 p.m. yesterday, 5-year-old Usher was playing in the pool with his aunt when he saw one of his toys in the drain. When he dove down into the pool to get the toy, his arm got stuck in the drain. His aunt quickly acted, diving in after him, but unfortunately, she was unable to get his hand out. Noticing what was happening, the maid also jumped in, hoping to rescue the child, but she was unsuccessful as well. The maid then screamed for help and two men who were working inside of the house reportedly jumped in and were able free him.

The younger Usher was then rushed to the hospital where doctors continue to run tests on him. Although 34-year-old Usher was not home at the time of the incident, he quickly rushed to the scene when he learned of the accident and rode in the ambulance with his son to a nearby hospital. Although the child is still being observed, thankfully, doctors say he will be okay.

I know Usher is thanking The Lord that those 2 men working inside the home were there that day. if they weren’t then his son would be dead right now.

I am so grateful Usher and Tameka’s son will be okay. My heart goes out to their family, especially since Tameka lost a son last year. I will keep them in my prayers!

How deep was the water for him to just jump in the water by himself & get the object w/out the adults around 2nd guessing it? smh…glad he’s ok tho

It wasnt the depth of the water that was problem. His arm got stuck in one of the pipes and his aunt couldn’t get it out.

I know what the problem was. But how it’s written above, makes it sound like Cinco jumped into the water, while no one was watching, & “dove” under to get the toy & then got stuck. My thing is how come his aunt or whoever wasn’t watching him closely near the water? It doesn’t make sense to me….Then i’m reading else where that he’s in ICU b/c he almost drowned, so the depth of water does have a play in his situation….But i’m happy he’s doing ok. That family needs to be careful w/ water

But they were watching him. He told his aunt that he was going to get his toy and she was watching him long enough to know that something was wrong and he needed help. I don’t think this is a case of no one was watching him close enough because clearly they were. Even the best eyes couldn’t have prevented this kid from getting sucked into the drain. It’s just an accident. No need to cast blame where there is none. And I’m sure after all of this Usher is definitely going to make sure his pool is kid friendly.

Ok. Who is or is not watching these children in the water? I hope this baby is ok?

He was with his aunt. He went for a toy in the pool. This could have happened with the Coast Guard watching him. It’s a freak accident. The suction around those drains can be so strong and she may not have been able to wrest him away.

        Ok thank you
