If nothing else, we’ve learned two things about Karlie Redd during the first two seasons of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta:

1. She’s really messy

2. She’s determined to become a star.

While we can’t say for sure whether or not Karlie’s big dreams of stardom will come true, we can say that her surprising new gig is placing her on right track. The 40-something-year-old reality star recently announced via her Twitter page that she will be starring in Chris Rock’s new movie, which is currently being called,  The Untitled Chris Rock Project. Her character’s name is Rhonda.

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of she and Chris together. According to the NY Daily News, in the film we will see Chris’s life as a famous comedian play out through the lens of a character named, Andre. Chris will be starring in the film alongside Hollywood heavy-hitters such as Gabrielle Union, Rosario Dawson, Sherri Shepherd, Cedric the Entertainer and Kevin Hart.

Although there has been no word on exactly how big Karlie’s role will be in the movie, her involvement in the project is a great look. Maybe she’ll decide to give up and music and go back to acting.

Are you surprised that Karlie of snagged a spot in this movie? How do you think she’ll do?

Ugh. Another black movie with every recognizable, working black actor they could find. I like Chris Rock & all the others mentioned, but how about some new talent?

I agree I think she should go back to acting I remember her being good on Scream Queens, I don’t know where this music business came from but she should stick to acting.

I’m happy for her! Messiness aside, Karlie might be the second most successful character since the show started, after K. Michelle. She has a little hair salon/boutique now and has guest performed with Beenie Man and a few other Reggae artists, I hear. That sounds like alot more than any of the actual rappers (Sheeda, Scrappy) and Producers (Stevie J.) have been up to. I’m not completely sold that Karlie is a messy as she seems. Alot of her scene only feature her runnin, spilling tea, like it’s staged. That can’t be all she does.

You would be surprised at just how messy some folks can be. I suspect that Karlie does do more than just running around “spilling tea”, however, I do think she is as messy as she comes off on LHHATL. Just about all the cast members have mentioned that “Karlie is known for being messy”. Everyone is not lying on her.

I am happy for Karlie and I also think that acting is a good look for her because honestly she is whackety whack whack whack when it comes to singing or rapping or whatever it is she is/was trying to do. I also hope she does not bring all that messiness on set with her because it is a different atmosphere and her acting career will be over before it really starts. Folks will brand her as a “problem” and will not be willing to work with her.

Congratulations Karlie!!!! I bet Benzino will be kissing your a$$ now and wanting you back REALLY bad now. Dont take him back girl!

First off, I’m not a hater so I will say good for her. On the other hand, a lot of times when reality stars claim they have a role they act like they’re the star when it’s probably just some bit part. I feel its good to announce these things as long as people don’t exaggerate like Kenya Moore and her “multi-million dollar” films.
