Miley Cryus Wants You To Know That She’s Not Just A ‘Ratchet White Girl’
Former Disney Star Miley Cyrus has been catching a pretty bad rap these days. Her interesting twerk videos and on-stage demonstrations at the concerts of 40-year-old rappers have not really done much for her image, and have left many questioning why she’s “trying” so hard to be ratchet. During a recent interview with Notion Magazine, the 20-year-old actress addressed her critics, expressing that they have the wrong perception of her. Check out some of her interview highlights below.
On wanting to change her stage name:
“I’m living it to the fullest. Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it’s just like this is what this name is now
“I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley, but there’s something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name.”
On the public’s misconception:
“People have this misconception of me that I’m just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I’m just this ratchet white girl, and I’m not.”
On being dedicated to her craft:
“I work really really hard, I’m just in a different environment. I’m young and living and in LA which is everyone’s dream, you know.’
