It’s all about champagne wishes and caviar dreams!

Nick Cannon will add yet another gig to his TV hosting duties, the Hollywood Reporter has learned. This fall, he will take over the reins of the Style network’s newly revived series, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous—originally hosted by Robin Leach in the ’80s and ’90s.

The rapper’s own production company, NCredible Entertainment, will produce it as well.

“Nick is both aspirational and accessible—key qualities of the Style brand. He is extremely talented with a grounded personality and style that a wide-range of viewers have come to appreciate and respect,” said Style network president Salaam Coleman Smith.

You can read more about it over at Essence.com. One thing for sure: Nick Cannon is a hustler. We haven’t seen this show in years and when it’s finally revamped, he emerges as the host!

But question: Do you think it is a good idea to bring a show back that flaunts wealth during such harsh economic times for most of the country?

You mean the same country that chooses to watch reality shows where rich folks flaunt their wealth? Something tells me they’ll be fine with it.

If we keep focusing on what we don’t have, how can we aspire to what we want? I may not have it today but this will not be my life (or income) forever. I watch these shows to prepare myself for my future life.

Its not that serious. Rappers do it weather the economy is good or bad. Just another form of escapism. Just like the show was when it first aired.
