If we know nothing else about Keyshia Cole, we know that she’s outspoken, bold and doesn’t mind calling people out on Twitter. Her latest target has been BET. You see, according to Keyshia, the network has yet to compensate she and her NBA-playing hubby Daniel for their reality show, Keyshia & Daniel: Family First, which aired last October! The season finale aired in December of 2012 and Keyshia says they have yet to cut her a check.

You’re probably wondering why she’s just now speaking out about it and on Twitter no less. But, it all started when a fan asked her if the show would be returning for a second season. Keyshia surprisingly shared that she was never paid for the first one.

Back in the October 2012 issue of Essence, Keyshia revealed that she and Daniel put up $150,000 of their own money to film the show themselves and then they shopped it around.

“We put up about $150,000 of our own money and shot it ourselves,” she told Kelley L. Carter. “I felt like the last show ended on a bad note and I feel like where Frankie and Neffe took their reality show was totally not what I wanted. It was so horrible. It broke a lot of things up in the family. So my husband and I decided to do our own show. We’re hoping to show our empire in a positive light,” she continued.

I guess that means there won’t be a season two.

I thought (reality) show producers went to the people/celebs if they were interested in creating a show around them……why would someone have to put up their own money to make a reality show? (that nobody probably wont watch in the first place). Maybe it’s just me, and I don’t know the “ins and outs” of reality tv producing, but that sounded like a red flag to me.

Good question. It appears that Cole paid to “shoot” the show and BET aired it. Her issue seems to be that she either hasn’t been reimbursed for the money she put up. OR she has not been paid for the show being aired on BET.

First Keyshia Cole belittles Michelle Williams, THEN she belittles Beyonce, NOW her husband gets arrested (for defending her honor), & now their reality show is a “no go” for season 2 cause BET allegedly hasn’t paid them!!!!! Karma is a b***h, isn’t it, Keyshia????

    Um, is she surprised?

    Dear Keyshia:
    It’s PAID, not PAYED!
    Thank you.
