Oh Lenethia, it’s always something with you.
According to TMZ, Nene Leakes has been hit with a $1 million dollar lawsuit for not paying a vendor who says they were an intricate part of the festivities.
Tiffany Cook of Dream Design Weddings says Nene was supposed to pay 15 percent of the entire wedding budget plus fee design, execution of the wedding and travel expenses to the wedding.
She admits that Leakes gave a down payment of $18,750 but never paid her again and now owes a little over a million dollars plus damages. She’s asking that a judge award her a total of $2.5 million in the decision.
On the flip side, Nene Leakes’ reps say none of this is true. In fact, they say Cook was not the wedding planner at all; instead, they say it was a man named Tony Conway. They added:
“This lawsuit has no merit and it appears to be a baseless attempt to grab 15 min of fame.”
Well, this is interesting. But if the woman is claiming, and can prove, that Nene gave her a down payment, then maybe there is or was some truth to Cook having been the wedding planner. Maybe they eventually went with Mr. Conway and now Cook feels…slighted? Who knows.
Bigger than all that, I thought most of us were under the impression that Bravo would be paying for everything – no matter the cost – since the wedding is being aired on an upcoming special, I Dream of Nene: The Wedding.
I suppose we’ll see how this all plays out.
