Slim Thug

Is it OK to celebrate a man not having any more kids? When it comes to Slim Thug it just feels right, which is why we’re reporting that the 32-year-old decided to go under the knife to prevent making anymore babies and as a result, owing anymore child support.  He posted a post-op photograph with the captions:

“#NoNewKids #NoNewBabymamas #NoMoChildSupport #NoLittleGirl just me and my 3 Boyz

I’m laying in my bed, watchin’ TV with my feet kicked up and ice pack on my balls. That’s what it’s gonna be for the night…foot surgery in the morning.”

Uhh, ok. I guess nothing, absolutely NOTHING is private anymore. But I suppose this is a responsible course of action for the rapper, who one year ago, advocated for abortion as a form of birth control, stating that:

“I think abortion is necessary on some occasions. People be against it, but people don’t deal with the real life situations some people deal with. I don’t think it’s right, I don’t think it’s good to have a baby and not be with the father. That’s part of the biggest problem. My mother, she took care of me, but she was working 7 days-a-week, 12 hours-a-day. That was a struggle, I seen how much she struggled and it was so hard coming up. I don’t even know who my daddy is. I don’t like that. I think a kid deserves both  his parents. That’s why I think if you ain’t gonna be with somebody, you don’t need to have a kid with him.

Even though I got 3 baby mamas…. it’s working out. But it ain’t right. I ain’t saying wait 3 or 4 months. If it’s immediate, it’s like birth control to me.”

While that train of thought really ground my gears, his decision, now, a year later to get a vasectomy proves that some people do realize that it takes two to make a baby and that all of the pressure should not be on mothers alone to have abortions to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Who keeps interviewing this simpleton? Abortion as birth control? And I guess now that he’s had a vasectomy he won’t bother with condoms (although it seems he rarely, if ever did). He says some of the dumbest stuff I’ve ever heard.

  • SexNdaCity

In a way I applaud him. It seems to me he realizes the errors of his ways. At least he’s eliminating the possibility of him creating more kids that would grow up in an incomplete household.

  • rainydaze80

People like this make eugenics seem like a good idea.

  • icandothattoo

He’s taking control of his body and deciding he’s done reproducing. Why isn’t everyone applauding that? We talk about men needing to take responsibility when it comes to reproduction, he’s done that. At least he’s not making more baby mamas and losing more money due to child support, and he’s not making anymore children with a part-time father. Nothing wrong with him being happy about that! Condoms arent the answer all the time and at least this way he isn’t making more babies. Now, this won’t stop him from catching and spreading a disease, but at least now some woman won’t catch the 9 month virus that seems to be spreading like wildfire.

    • bluekissess

I don’t see why everyone isn’t giving him a standing ovation. It’s always something of what he couldve or shouldve done as if they personally know him. And if he is doing it for child support reasons so what! Now if women start taking responsibility like he has it wouldn’t be baby mama with five kids with different daddys

    • Trisha_B

Exactly! I have a feeling if this was a woman, like lets say Erykah badu (3 kids by 3 men) the response would have been totally different. Applauding her for taking control of her body. Nothing about stds would be brought up, no blame would be put on her. It would have been positive post. But b/c hes a male & is a rapper, all the fault on them kids are put on him when it take 2 to make a kid. I congratulate him for this & believe more men should follow. Men should be allowed to have a choice when they want to be done having kids. those who are mad are probably the ones who trap men into having kids for a check. Change the game up men! Lol

  • saddened

wow the world our children have to look forward too……………..sad

It is truly sad when people speak in ignorance. When will young men learn that it takes unprotected sex to make a baby and contract sexually transmitted diseases? You don’t have unprotected sex, make a baby, then kill the baby you created. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!!! Don’t create a child that you are not ready to raise. Remember, it is better to marry than to burn. Plan for the child you want in life. So, stop the one night stands! Take time to find out if you want to be with this person, BEFORE you give up the goodies and bare a child with him/her. Physical pleasure is not worth the death that it can cause, for an unwanted child or by you catching AIDS. Yes, AIDS does kill! Is it worth a moment of sexual pleasure? NO WAY! Don’t let a moment of heated passion be your DEATH sentence. Watch Tyler Perry’s new movie “Temptations”, it might just change the way you view relationships.

  • kierah

And pass the number for your doctor to more of your brethren. Making children with random women isn’t a smart way to go.
There is a possibility of reversal so this is a great option for men. Michael Jordan is getting his reversed for his new wife.

  • DressSox~n~draws

Hey, better late than never I guess; not going to demean his efforts though.

  • NatashaDecemberBabyThomas

Too bad a vasectomy don’t protect his wang against STDs when he hits it raw with random women. But seriously most of these rappers and athletes should considered this with all the illegitimate children they bring in the world.

  • am

I agree with him all the way. That’s one less thing he has to worry about. Now protecting himself from getting STDS is all he should care about. I am a mother of 3 with 3 different fathers. Who I spent many years with. I don’t regret anything about how I Ioved 3 men and had children. People are always judging others. He is doing what is right for him.

    • Herm Cain

So every n***a you have feelings for you have to have his baby smdh notice its trifling women like you that live to complain about people judging you just don’t want to be accountable for promiscuity

  • Trisha_B

I think its a good choice. He’s talking control over his body like women do. More men should do the same. Women have birth control & can get their tubes tide, why can’t he make a choice? Yea, he could use condoms but they arent always correct. They break, & certain women steal baby batter (I.e. being mary jane). So he’s taking things into his own hands, he’s deciding if & when he brings anymore kids into the world like women do. He has 3 already, he’s happy w/ his 3 & doesnt want anymore. He has that right. Birth control options for men need to happan asap, but until then a vasectomy is gonna have to work. Plus they can be reversed if he changes his mind about kids

  • Ms. Kameria

That’s a wise decision. (Never mind that he’s already 3 down). A lot of up and coming “rappers/athletes/producers” and regular people who don’t plan on taking care of children should strongly consider.

    • bluekissess

What I get confused about us that people on this forum are a slight bit ignorant. They keep saying use a condom like it’s the solution lol. They can help but it’s always that 1% chance of impregnating (I think that’s how you spell it) someone

      • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

Possible but certainly not the case for him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he paid more than a couple to take a trip down to Planned Parenthood.

  • JoyBee

Sooooo – were condoms out of the question???
    (-_-)

  • Nikia D-Shiznit

The sad part is that people act like they can’t lie down without making babies. There is an abundance of birth control options, and if he consistently used condoms, he would not have this issue. I think that he has realized that he is reckless, and sad with 3 baby mommas. His unbridled sexual tendencies that made him a father 3x with 3 different women and put them at a real disadvantage. And we know if he isn’t protecting himself from fatherhood, he is exposing himself to STD/STIs. He is doing himself and society a favor by getting a vasectomy.

    More men should follow suit.

    • bluekissess

Maybe he did use condoms but it still left that 1% chance. Condoms are 99.9%. I could be wrong

      • Nikia D-Shiznit

        Not 3 times

        • bluekissess

So you think this guy had sex three times to get three kids? Lol it’s a possibility he had sex 9 times with a condom and the 10the time with a condom the girl got pregnant. Smh

          • Kenedy

This is Slim Thug though….Slim Thug…not Mos Def or Nas, Slim Thug…he doesn’t come off as the responsible or sensible type

            • bluekissess

              Wow… Smh…. I guess

        • Pivyque

Hmmm condoms have failed us more than 3 times. I only got pregnant once (thanks to plan b) but I can definitely believe that condoms have failed others as well. Fortunately, I was introduced to female condoms and we haven’t had any issues with those.

        • MLS2698

They fail when people use Vaseline, or whipped cream as a lubricant, instead of something water-based. But I still don’t believe him.

    • http://www.yourtango.com/users/cheekee-baby cheekee baby

Agreed. He could have ya know not have slept with loosey goosey women looking for a come up. You know taking the time to find, court, date and MARRY a woman on the same page as him when it comes to parenthood. Couples do normal ish like family planning together.

But they gonna learn that not all that glitters is gold and anything that comes easy never comes cheap.

  • 1Val

Boy bye. You just hate paying child support to your 3 baby mamas. Men who believe children should be reared in two parent households are the HUSBANDS of one WIFE who birthed ALL of his children.

    • bluekissess

You do have somewhat of a point. The one word that I got out of the article is responsibility. Was it late? Probably but I’ve also read articles with men having 20 kids and not paying anything. A vasectomy is equivalent to a women getting a mastectomy. You feel like you lose apart of who you are. I think it should be applauded. Hopefully his followers will consider doing the same thing

      • 1Val

Not hardly. This man will continue to engage in unprotected sex exposing himself and partners to STDs. He just won’t be able to impregnate women. Some of us are slow learners so AFTER he contracts an STD he will advocate wearing condoms just like reality of prison for failure to pay child support forced him to have a vasectomy.

        • bluekissess

          Smh….. I guess

      • mividaloca

It is nothing like having a mastectomy! Nothing is being removed. That is the worst comparision I have heard. Men don’t feel like they are losing anything but the inconvenience of the time lost while recuperating. I know many men who have had vasectomies who don’t feel any different. It’s not like he’s being neutered and having his testicles removed!!! SMH!!!

        • bluekissess

Comparing and having similarities is totally different. Those men you speak shouldn’t be the spokesman for all men who have wanted to or are thinking about it. Anyways… good for him (slim thug)

          • mividaloca

And the men you speak of who feel like they are “losing a part of who they are” are also not the “spokesman for all men who have wanted to or are thinking about it.” Most women who are having a mastectomy are not doing so to no longer reproduce, but most of the time it’s for reconstruction due to trauma, cancer, or disease/disorder. I’m glad he is putting the word out, hoping to help get rid of “stigma” surrounding this very viable, safe, and effective medical procedure to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

            • bluekissess

Again I applaud him for his choice. Some men don’t take the time and look at all of the options. We’ll just have to agree to disagree

    • icandothattoo

Nothing wrong with him hating paying child support. I think it’s a great idea and more men should definitely go this route!

      • 1Val

So many things wrong with this man’s mentality.

    • MLS2698

But I don’t believe him. A vasectomy is a 20min office procedure. He doesn’t need a surgery cap for that; just a gown and lots of courage. Plus that gown doesn’t look like it opens in the front.

      • Pivyque

He said he had to get foot surgery too.

        • MLS2698

Surgery on his testicles, then surgery on his foot? Looks like will be in pain from the waist down. Who would want two parts of their body in pain like that at the same time?

          • Pivyque

I saw a picture of his feet. He NEEDED that surgery lol I’ve actually heard that a vasectomy is painless. My husband is getting one in a few months so he was asking around to people that have had one and they say it didn’t hurt. I’m sure it depends on the person tho.

            • Mia

Yes, those feet are horrendous! Look like something a deep down south woman would throw in the pot to season her collard greens.
