Phaedra Parks Defamation Case Brought to Screeching Halt After Key Witness Is Arrested For Identity Theft Tax Fraud
Seriously, where the hell does Phaedra Parks meet her friends? Last year former acquaintance of Phaedra Parks, Angela Stanton, came forward with a memoir titled, Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil. In the book, Stanton claims to be exposing the nitty gritty on the self-proclaimed Southern belle’s criminal past. In addition to the memoir, Stanton participated in an explosive interview with Vibe, during which she shared the backstory on who she is, how she came to know Phaedra and shared some of the dirty details that can be found in her book about the reality star. Not long after, news leaked that Parks filed a $30 million lawsuit against the publication and Angela, claiming that they published the article about Stanton to Vibe.com even though they “had actual knowledge that the accusations against plaintiff were false prior to publication.”
Now, just days before Phaedra and Angela were scheduled to meet in court, we hear that it may actually have to be pushed back five months! According to Straight From The A, Phaedra’s key witness Justin Cody, who also happens to have a child with Angela, was recently indicted on Identity Theft Tax Fraud charges! I know, I know, it’s like a never-ending scandal, but catch this: homeboy is being accused of stealing hundreds of identities and claiming over $600,000 in fake tax returns! Pretty ironic, right? Well Angela thinks so, too. The über messy alarm ringer took to her Twitter page to taunt Phaedra and Justin about his arrest.
“WELP!!! There goes her star witness 2 weeks before trial. oh’ the irony of it all…#Favor,” she tweeted.
“Maybe Phaedra can help” she added.
“Fortunately 4 me My sons father wasn’t dealing with me or my son every since Phaedra contacted him last year in September! Lol! Thank God!”
“If the Feds want you they got you it wont be a mystery. I wonder what Phaedra & my sons father really had going on…”
Although Angela may have gotten a good chuckle out of her opponents misfortune, she has also reached a rather large bump in the road because according to Access Atlanta, her attorney Eddie Beal just up and quit on her. Court documents state that Eddie was “representing Stanton on a pro bono basis, always with the understanding that she would secure other counsel.” They go on to say that her financial situation has made it difficult to secure another attorney.
“Due largely to her depressed financial situation, Stanton has been unable to secure another attorney” but that she “believes she can secure the services of another attorney within the next two months and that the case could be ready for trial within the next five months.”
Mmm mmm mmm…
