Brandy, Taraji, And Estelle Speak On Black Women Supporting One Another In Hollywood

July 10, 2013  |

This past Saturday, McDonalds held their annual 365 Black Awards during the Essence Festival in New Orleans and the gold carpet was lit with stars who were being honored and who wanted to pay homage to other celebrities they admire. MadameNoire was front and center on the carpet, and given the recent special Oprah did on black women in Hollywood, we wanted to chat with a few of the biggest names in black entertainment to see if they feel we’re really in crabs in a barrel crisis mode or are supportive and encouraging of one another. Check out what they had to say.

Oh and there’s also some eye candy by way of Omari Hardwick as well! What do you think?

It took me a long time to see Brandy as a respectable actor until I FINALLY saw her in Temptation. I also thought it was a mutual respect among black actresses….guess not.

I will always love and respect Black Women.

Having stared right in the face of ‘Racial, Physical and Emotional Prejudice’ for generations, they still remain the wisest, boldest, strongest and independent of the female species. That is the beauty of the ‘African Woman’.

    God Bless.
