First, I should clear up one thing: the correct title of the song seems to be “#SUMMERFLING,” with the hashtag in the beginning.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s move on to the single and video.

In the video, we see 12 year old Willow with a little summer boo that we learn, from the song, she approached.  She recognizes that this is only something that can last for a couple of months but they decide to go with the feeling anyway to see where it takes them.

She tells her boyfriend in the very beginning:

The bright sun and the blue water/We fight less and love harder/You tell me that I’m the one, I tell you it’s just for fun/We walk the beach at midnight and watch the stars in the clear skies/We both say ‘I love you’ but its alright…”

From there, they do what 12 year old “lovebirds” do over the summer: call each other on the phone, lay on the beach, walk the beach at midnight, good night kisses when the mood is right, etc. Granted, I didn’t do these things at that age but Willow is apparently part of the “new age” of tweens and maybe that’s what they do.

The “SUMMERFLING” video also gives a little screen time to Willow’s older brother, Jaden.  Other than that, it’s just a bunch of teenage kids hanging out by a lake and in a backyard enjoying their summer vacation.

We discussed Willow’s more “adult” sound with Melodic Chaotic (DJ Fabrega aka “Chaotic” is 21 years old) when they dropped “The Intro” and many of you said that people are too hard on Willow and we need remember what it’s like being a kid so I’m trying to help those of you who will be “hard on her” become a little more “open.”  It’s a summer song about…summer love.

Check out the video and tell us what you think of it and the song. By the way, yes that is a blonde “situation” on her head.  I can be open to a lot of things but they could have done a slightly better job on that.
