Pass Or Play? Fantasia, Kelly Rowland And Missy Elliott Team Up For “Without Me”
If you’re like us, you are probably a big fan of “Without Me” and Fantasia’s whole album, Side Effects of You. It’s the standout banger that only a feature from Missy could provide and now we have visuals to put with the anti-scrub anthem. The video was directed by the duo Gomillion & Leupold, and in it, the ladies are in all black, all leather everything, showing off their dance moves (even Fantasia) and harmonizing about ungrateful men they helped put on.
It’s one of Fantasia’s sexiest videos yet as she shows of her trim figure, muscular legs, and ever-changing hair. Kelly Rowland of course always looks stunning so there’s nothing new to report, and Missy, who has been in and out of the scene for the last few years, is looking good too in one of her usual funky tracksuits. The song is the second single from the album, and Fanny spoke recently about the inspiration behind it, which came from a phone call she received while in the studio that pissed her off:
“I got a call earlier that day that pissed me off and we were at the studio. We weren’t even supposed to record. The studio was full of guys and so I remember coming in after getting off the phone, and I told my producer, I just need you to get on the keys. I need to go in. I need something hard, I need something hood and so he began to create the track.
You stuntin’! Everything you doing, I put you on to that! So, you stuntin’, where would you be without me. Go ahead and get your shine time now, but it’s going to die soon because there is no talent. You are just stuntin’ because of me.”
So there you have it! Check out the video for yourself and let us know if you’re feeling it, and if it’s a pass or play for you.
