As we noted today, no one really takes a real vacation off from work these days. A survey by Prosper Mobile Insights found that 78.8 percent of mobile users who go on vacation say they take a smartphone or tablet with them and use it all the time, while 18.9 percent take their device and rarely use it, and only 2.2 percent say they leave their devices at home, reports Inc. And, nearly 60 percent of U.S. employees check email regularly, take a work-related phone call or otherwise check in with the office while they are on vacation, according to a new survey of more than 1,000 American workers by Pertino, a cloud-based networking business, reports Entrepreneur.
While some experts will tell you to unplug when you head out on vacation, the study found that people feel less stressed if they can still check in on work while away. About half (47 percent) of survey respondents say they are less stressed on vacation if they can stay in touch with the office. Men like to check in slightly more than women, according to the survey.
