Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve realized that 2013 is already Kevin Hart’s year. From working on the sequel to Think Like A Man to hosting Saturday Night Live, releasing another stand-up film Let Me Explain and working with Robert DeNiro and Sylvester Stallone in the upcoming film Grudge Match, he’s become the big little man in Hollywood.

But that’s not all, as Hart has teamed up with Ice Cube for what looks to be a very funny new film called Ride Along. It looks so good that according to Shadow and Act, the folks at Universal are already preparing to do a sequel when the film drops, if it does well. Here’s the colorful premise. Hart plays a high school security guard who wants to get respect from the brother of his longtime girlfriend’s so that he can marry her. However, the brother, played by Ice Cube, is a tough cop who doesn’t want him near his baby sister. Hearing he has been allowed to train as a cop, Ice Cube offers to take Hart on a “ride along” so that he can inevitably scare him away.

Other big names in the upcoming film include Jay Pharoah of Saturday Night Live, and John Leguizamo, as well as Tika Sumpter who plays Hart’s girlfriend. The film was directed by Tim Story and is not actually set to come out until next January. Until then, check out the trailer and let us know what you think. I’m pretty excited honestly, and found myself busting a gut halfway through. Should be good!

What do you think about Ride Along so far?
