BET Awards Behind The Scenes: Diddy Goes In On Folks For Not Wearing “Proper Attire” To The Show; Chris And Karreuche Officially Back On
“There goes her baaaaabyyyyy.” That’s what Karreuche Tran was thinking when she was watching Chris Brown perform during the BET Awards. While the two have been very close since Brown and Rihanna called it quits again earlier this year, we weren’t sure if they were just cuddle buddies trying to provide support to one another, or if they were an actual couple again. After the caption Tran had for this photo, it seems that they’re definitely back on again:
“My baby. Good luck today.❤”
Anyone would be a fool to say that they didn’t see this reunion back into coupledom happening again, but for Tran to be so open about it after the way he hurt her the first time (and talked about it on video), it’s definitely interesting. But if they’re happy, then that’s all that matters…right?
And while Chris and Karreuche were showing each other love, Diddy was doing the opposite when it came to sharing his thoughts about the fashions our stars pulled out the closet. Between 2 Chainz rocking a fringe bolero jacket and Miguel in a pony hair jacket while performing at last night’s awards, to the many famous names who came out honestly dressed in bodycon ensembles and casual wear more appropriate for the club, the fashionable mogul had just about all he could take of the all-black, all-white, all-leather looks he was seeing and ranted about it via Twitter. He wanted more black glamour and less “Free before 11”:
“Is it just me or did all the good stylist go on strike!! If this continues imma have to come down to that
#BetAwards! WARNING! @RevoltTV”
“Dear artist, Dear Human Brands! The world is watching us!
#BetAwards This is our Oscars not the hip hop awards! Showem Black Glamour!”
“Be clear I’m not trying to be negative I just want US to WIN I just want them to know that we as a people understand proper attire!”
“Ok things are getting a lil better!!!! Haahaaa”
Only Diddy. But I respect what he was trying to say. I often used to wonder if black stars who used BET to get their name or their music out to the world back in the day even really care about the BET Awards now that they’ve made it, because so many either don’t show up for the shows, even when they’re heavily nominated (Seriously, I haven’t seen Rihanna on that show since 2010), or they come dressed like they just came to pick up their award and planned to leave soon after. No one is going to take these awards shows seriously if we don’t.
What do you think of Karreuche’s open support to Chris, and Diddy’s thoughts on the stale red carpet looks?
