While many criticized the California native for his lack of talent and lyrical abilities, Lil B, real name Brandon McCartney, holds a high opinion of himself. He even calls himself the “Based God.” “Music wise I do feel like I’m a prophet status and at the God status. I just wanted my point across and I wanted to be a little bratty attention slore,” he said in a 2010 interview. In 2011, Lil B created controversy by titling an album I’m Gay, which he says was his way of supporting the LGBT community.
