Favoritism is one of the ugliest truths about working in any organization, whether small or large. It destroys workplace teams and is one of the most demotivating factors one can experience. In simple terms, favoritism is an individual or a group of people are treated superior than others. It may or may not be because of the quality of the work. Either way, workplace favoritism gives a ‘notion’ to the other employees that a person is treated in a better way for no valid reason.
